Possums, a review by addicted2dvd

Possums
The Nowata High School football team hasn't won a game in 25 years. They haven't scored a touchdown in 13 years. But when the town decides to cancel the Possums football program, local radio sports announcer Will Clark is left devastated.

With the team gone and the football field about to be dozed under, Will breaks into the radio station and starts announcing imaginary Possums games -- Only this time the team's winning. Although the town initially laughs at Will, they can't help but be swept up by Possums magic as Will announces the team all the way to an imaginary state championship.

But when the real state champions challenge the fictitious Nowata team to a game, Will has only two weeks to recruit and train the Possums' team. Can Will's rag-tag, thrown together team possibly be good enough to hold together the town's new sense of hope and pride?

Mac Davis stars in this feel good story about a team facing an impossible task with an indomitable spirit. And about the town that gets behind them and learns a few important things about itself.

My Thoughts:
This is one of the many DVDs I got very cheap when the video store I used to manage closed. That was a good 4 or 5 years ago now. And this is the first time I got around to watching this movie. Probably because I am not a big sports fan. It is something I can watch once in a while when I am in the mood... but that mood does not come very often. That is probably why going into this movie I had very low hopes of enjoying it. And it is probably a good thing I did. It really is no more then an average movie. But at the same time I was able to get into it before it was over. It is definitely a different type of football movie. And shows there is more to the game then winning.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

My Thoughts:
OK... even though I really wasn't in the mood to watch this one today... I promised the person that gave it to me a review.... so decided to go ahead and get it done. I originally thought I never seen this film before... but too many parts seemed really familiar to me. So I am thinking I must have caught it before at some point... just forgot it. This one focuses more on the werewolves then the vampires for the first half of the movie... creating a love triangle for Bella. I tell you one thing.. watching this one movie... I seen enough shirtless guys to last a lifetime... had to wonder if some of those guys even owned a shirt. I say turnabout is fair play... how about one with almost constant shirtless girls! LOL.

I must say... and I am not surprised... but I didn't care too much for this one either. I actually prefer the first one to this one. But that could be because I like vampires so much. I found myself struggling to finish this one. Though it did have some decent scenes. I do like the continuation of the bad vampires still after Bella. And of course I did like the vampires vs. Werewolves scenes. Just wish there was more of them.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Marathon , a review by Critter

1.04
Teacher's Pet

Plot:My Thoughts: To me this is a fairly average episode. The plot seems a little weak, and the thought of a giant bug killing off it's male students just seems a little tame compared to some of the issues that come up in this world. One thing I can say though is that I thought the design of the teacher, while in her prayingmantis form was done well. It looked quite creepy but didn't look overly fake due to the time period and budget of the show.
