My Thoughts:
Still a much enjoyable movie. Even on its release, the animation was solid but couldn't quite compare to the works of Pixar, which were light years ahead. But maybe because they went with the simple animation approach, the animation still has its charm today as it did then.
The interaction of the characters is fun and the story suitable for young and old.

Hellboy, a review by Rich

Title: Hellboy

Movie Count:3
TV Ep. Count:2

Runtime:122
Certificate:PG-13
Year:2004

Plot:As dark forces gather to hasten the Apocalypse, Hellboy fights fire with fire in this mind-blasting supernatural action-adventure from the visionary director of Blade 2. Based on the celebrated Dark Horse comic book.

My Review:
Daft but enjoyable, a fairly reasonable adaptation.
A nice blend of action, romance and comedy for this genre, with a cool lead by Ron Perlman and a particularly memorable dark villain in Kroenen.
Action is fairly much non-stop and well portrayed, albeit slightly too many fight scenes IMO.
The biggest downside for me, besides HB's weird love of stray cats, was his apparent infallibility, you never really felt he was in any serious mortal jeopardy against any of the baddies.
Don't take this movie too seriously, and it can then be enjoyed.

Video:Full Frame 1.33:1

Plot:
Based on the enormously popular and successful Planet of the ApesPlanet of the Apes
1.01 Escape From Tomorrow
Writer: Art Wallace (Writer), Pierre Boulle (Original Characters By)
Director: Don Weis
Cast: Roddy McDowall (Galen), Ron Harper (Alan Virdon), James Naughton (Peter Burke), Royal Dano (Farrow), Woodrow Parfrey (Veska), Mark Lenard (Urko), Booth Colman (Zaius), Biff Elliot (Ullman), Bobby Porter (Arno), Jerome Thor (Proto), William Beckley (Grundig), Alvin Hammer (Man)

A good first episode, even if it is rehashing the first movie. It sets up the series as a "The Fugitive" kind of story.
