The Animal, a review by addicted2dvd

The Animal: Special Edition
He might not look like much, but it's what's inside that counts. Comic genius Rob Schneider, TV's "Survivor" Colleen Haskell, John C. McGinley and Edward Asner star in the most outrageous and hysterical comedy of the year.

When evidence clerk Marvin Mange answers a 911 call of a burglary in progress, his dream of one day becoming a cop seems to be coming true. But a freak car accident en route to the crime leaves Marvin and his dream a shattered mess. When Marvin awakens a week later, he finds that a deranged scientist secretly used animal organs to rebuild his broken body. Energized by his new and improved parts, Marvin achieves instant fame as a super cop until his animal instincts start taking over his body at all the wrong times. And when he finds himself falling for the lovely and sexy Rianna, it's animal magnetism at its craziest in the funniest and wildest comedy of the year!

My Thoughts:
This is one that a friend gave to me because she didn't see herself watching it that often. I do know that have seen this one before... but it has been so long that I barely remember it. I didn't even remember if I enjoyed it much... so I went into this one not really knowing what to expect. It was a pretty good movie.... had some really funny parts in it. It was a bit more on the silly side then what I am normally used to... but that is to be expected with what the movie is about. This is a decent release of a special edition... I didn't watch many of the extras... but I did check out the deleted scenes. Anyway... is  a fun movie... and I can see myself watching it again at some point.

OverviewRoger Moore and Susannah York star in Wilbur Smith`s explosive 1974 international conspiracy thriller, set in the South African goldfields and directed by Peter Hunt (On Her Majesty`s Secret Service).

A ruthless global cabal of financial investors plan to manipulate the price of gold on the world market - by sabotaging one of South Africa`s top gold mines and flooding it with millions of gallons of water. All they need is someone to take the blame. Manager Rod Slater (Roger Moore) seems the perfect choice. He s brash, rough and impulsive - just the sort of man to make a fatal mistake. As Slater embarks on an affair with Terry (Suzannah York), the heiress granddaughter of mine owner Hurry Hirschfeld (Ray Milland), the conspiracy tightens all around him and thousands of lives hang by a thread...

Based on a best-selling novel by Wilbur Smith and filmed entirely on location in South Africa, Gold is an unforgettable thriller with a breath-taking climax and a fantastic cast which also includes John Gielgud and Bradford Dillman.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer Marathon , a review by Critter

Never Kill a Boy on the First Date

Plot: Buffy's love life is looking up when she goes on a date with the normal Owen, but when Owen nearly gets killed during Buffy's battle to save Giles and the others from the Master's vampires, she decides that "normal" dating might be too dangerous after all.

My Thoughts: I thought this was a great episode, it worked very well to enhance the story of the 'Master' that has been lurking behind most of the episodes of this season, but also managed to include a story that was at times, very funny. The introduction of Owen was done well, he was a great character and it was almost a shame to see him go. This episode is really the first in what will be many episodes dealing with Buffy's issues balancing her slayer life with dating and I thought they did it well. The whole episode left me very intruiged of what will happen with the 'Master' in coming episodes.

Rating: 4/5
