Cheerleader Camp, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Cheerleader Camp Movie Count: 14 TV Ep Count: 2 Time Started: 10:30am Plot: Welcome to Camp Hurrah, where a psycho killer is slaughtering high school cheerleaders on the eve of the all-state finals. Drive-in goddesses 'Betsy Russell' (PRIVATE SCHOOL, AVENGING ANGEL) and 'Lucinda Dickey' (BREAKIN' 2: ELECTRIC BOOGALOO) star with former teen idol 'Leif Garrett' in this bouncing, bleeding bonanza of B-movie goodness featuring graphic violence, gratuitous nudity, bad rapping and more from the glory days of late '80s splatter. This is CHEERLEADER CAMP! Playboy centerfold 'Rebecca Ferratti', Penthouse Pet 'Krista Pflanza' and Playboy centerfold-turned-hardcore-porn queen 'Teri Weigel' co-star in this slasher fan favorite also known as BLOODY POM POMS. CHEERLEADER CAMP has been newly transferred from the original negative and is now presented completely uncut and uncensored! My Thoughts: I was definitely NOT impressed. This is pure low-budget cheese... which is ok sometimes... but with this one I found myself struggling to stay awake through the entire movie. I really didn't feel like I cared for any of the characters. But I will say there was a decent kill or 2 in the movie... so it isn't like it was all bad... just mostly bad... yes I have seen worse... but not many! Oh well... can't win 'em all. Year: 2010 Director: Adam McKay Cast: Will Ferrell, Mark Wahlberg, Eva Mendes Overview: Misfit police detectives Gamble and Hoitz (Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg) are sentenced to life behind a desk. Forced to live in the shadows of the two biggest and most badass cops on the force (Samuel L. Jackson and Dwayne Johnson), they hate the monotony of their meaningless jobs almost as much as they hate each other. But opportunity knocks for Gamble and Hoitz when they stumble onto what could be one of the biggest crimes in years. Can The Other Guys step up their game and solve the case without killing each other and destroying New York in the process? Steve Coogan and Eva Mendes also star in this hilarious new comedy from the director of 'Step Brothers' and 'Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby'. Watched: 29th. Jan 2011 My Thoughts: I watched the extended edition and thought it was an OK film. I didn't really enjoy this as much as other Adam McKay films I have seen, the characters tended to grate on me. Maybe I wasn't in the right mood for this. My Rating: A ho-hum 2 (From Dave's DVD/Blu-ray Reviews on January 30th, 2011) Stacked: The Complete Series, a review by addicted2dvdStacked: The Complete Series You can't judge a bookstore by its cover girl, especially when she happens to be Pamela Anderson! Anderson stars as drop-dead sexy Skyler Dayton, a reformed party girl in need of a lifestyle makeover, who takes a job at a family-run bookstore called "Stacked Books." Determined to prove she has ample talent beyond her ample talents, Skyler dazzles the employees and customers with her sweet-natured charm and refreshing honesty. This hip, hilarious comedy also features guest appearances by superhotties Jenny McCarthy and Carmen Electra and includes five unaired episodes that can finally be revealed. You'll bust out laughing! Episodes: 1. Pilot 2. Beat the Candidate 3. A Fan for all Seasons 4. Gavin's Pipe Dream 5. The Ex-Appeal 6. Nobody Says I Love You 7. Two Faces of Eve 8. Darling Nikki 9. Crazy Ray 10. iPod 11. Heavy Medal 12. Goodwizzle Hunting 13. After Party 14. Romancing the Stones 15. You're Getting Sleepy 16. The Third Date 17. The Day the Music Died 18. Poker 19. The Headmaster Extras:
My Thoughts: Going into this series I found it to be no more then you would expect from the series looking at the title, star and reading the overview. Sure it has some laughs. But it is no more then an immature comedy. It has little more then extremely obvious sexual innuendos and Pamela Anderson showing off her body. So there is no surprise that it was canceled as early as it was. It was canceled after only 14 episodes... but the entire 19 produced episodes is in the DVD release. Despite what I say here... I still did enjoy this show for what it is. You just can't go looking here for some sort of masterpiece. My Rating: (From Stacked: The Complete Series on September 28th, 2010) |
