My Thoughts: I just stumbled across this one in my collection. I overlooked it because I had forgotten to tag this as a TV series. This is the pilot TV movie for the series "Moonlighting". This is the only episode I have ever seen of this series. I enjoyed it. I am almost tempted to buy the series. This movie had probably one of the best opening of the cinema history (some will certainly said that I exaggerates as usual) with a great speach by Fred Williamson. The characters even if they are establish fastly aren't caricature and you care and root for them. Great acting from Robert Forster, his performance is just incredible and feels real. Fred Williamson is as good as usual and you get a small cameo by the always appreciated Joe Spinell. The instrumental theme song is powerfull and awesome (when you hear the first note later it doesn't take you long to understand that Eddie Marino is in revenge mode). Well written script that doesn't give you a chance to take your breath. Frankly one of the best american revenge movie ever made...Great eighties movie that you must watch if you want to see the greatness of the American independant cinema before it was put to death by the disapearance of the independant movie theatre and the drive in. Some fun moments like Fraser trying to steal something. Rating: 2.04 Bird in the Hand (1995-12-21) Writer: Paul Haggis (Created By), Paul Haggis (Writer) Director: Paul Haggis Cast: Paul Gross (Constable Benton Fraser), David Marciano (Detective Ray Vecchio), Beau Starr (Lt. Harding Welsh), Daniel Kash (Detective Louis Gardino), Tony Craig (Detective Jack Huey), Catherine Bruhier (Elaine), Lee Purcell (Louise St. Laurent), Ken Pogue (Gerrard), Dick Anthony Williams (ATF Agent McFadden), Scott Gibson (Ovitz), Philip Williams (Lloyd P. Nash), Stewart Arnott (FBI Agent Borland), Dean McDermott (Constable Turnbull), Gordon Pinsent (Fraser Sr.), Christopher Thomas (Marshall #1), Brian King (Marshall #2), Matt Birman (ATF Agent #1), Branko Racki (ATF Agent #2) A lot of great exchanges between Fraser and his father. Wouldn't it have been for that, it would have been a rather average episode. Also this episode introduces Constable Turnbull for the first time.
