Where Eskimos Live, a review by Rich

in and out of Poland...

In the course of his travels, Vlado meets Sharkey (Bob Hoskins) a rough-hewn Englishman who claims to be a caseworker for UNICEF. Actually, Sharkey is rounding up children for a black market adoption ring in Poland. Sharkey persuades Vlado to join him, assuming the boy would fetch a fair price and Vlado, unaware of Sharkey's true intentions, says yes. Sharkey and Vlado soon become unlikely friends but Sharkey soon learns getting Vlado out of the country may not be so simple

 I could write several pages to describe how awful this film is and why you should not part with any money to purchase it. I gave it one point purely on the scenery, and the child actors performance. This is a poor attempt at trying to cover too many subjects - Bosnia,War,Kidnapping, Relations etc etc., and doing them all badly. Avoid it 1/10  :suicide:

Ninja Assassin , a review by samuelrichardscott

Ninja Assassin (2009) Region Free UK

Overview:
Fear not the weapon but the hand that wields it. The filmakers behind The Matix and V for Vendetta bring new blood to martial arts movies in this smashing adventure. Korean pop star Rain plays heroic, deadly Raizo. Trained from childhood in the way of the Ozunu Clan ninja, he is stalked by fellow warriors and their dojo patriarch (martial arts legend Sho Kosugi)...and is on the run with a Europol agent (Naomie Harris) who has proof the clan sells assassination services to governments.

My Thoughts:
James McTeague's follow-up to the enjoyable "V For Vendetta" brings an Eastern martial arts feel and combines it with a Hollywood storyline. Starring Rain, Rick Yune, Naomie Harris and Ben Harris it is full of non-stop, and very gory, action sequences which are stylish, well edited and a joy to watch. The storyline itself isn't anything we haven't seen before and the script is rather average, but overall, it's a lot of fun. I can't wait for McTeague's third film, The Raven with John Cusack. 3.5/5

Director: Joss Whedon
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Charisma Carpenter (Cordelia Chase), David Boreanaz (Angel), Seth Green (Oz), Anthony Stewart Head (Giles), Harry Groener (Mayor Richard Wilkins), Alexis Denisof (Wesley Wyndam-Pryce), Danny Strong (Jonathan), Larry Bagby, III (Larry), Mercedes McNab (Harmony Kendall), Ethan Erickson (Percy), Eliza Dushku (Faith), Armin Shimerman (Principal Snyder), Paulo Andres (Dr. Powell), Susan Chuang (Nurse), Tom Bellin (Dr. Gold), Samuel Bliss Cooper (Vamp Lackey)

Nice to see the complete graduation class fighting together.

Such a Joss Whedon thing to do to blow up the High School, when it's no longer needed. He does the same again at the end of the series. "Sunnydale? We don't need it anymore. Let's destroy it!"
Sunnydale High was such a big part of this series, that I really missed it in the remaining seasons.
