Bowfinger, a review by addicted2dvdBowfinger How does Bobby Bowfinger (Steve Martin), Hollywood's least successful director, get Kit Ramsey (Eddie Murphy), Hollywood's biggest star, in his ultra low-budget film? Any way he can. With an ingenious scheme and the help of Kit's eager and nerdy brother Jiff, an ambitious and sexy wannabe (Heather Graham) and an over-the-hill diva (Christine Baranski), Bowfinger sets out to trick Kit Ramsey into the performance of a lifetime. Enjoy the fun with Eddie Murphy and Steve Martin - together for the first time in the hit comedy BOWFINGER. My Thoughts: I first seen this movie back in 2003 when I bought the DVD used at a pawnshop I stopped by. And this is the first time I watched it since. I remembered feeling it was not too great of a film when I originally watched it... so I wanted to give it a second chance. Maybe it is because I am expecting too much from stars such as Steve Martin and Eddie Murphy but I am still not thrilled with this movie. If anything I would say it is a decent movie... but one I just didn't find funny at all. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: 5/15 - 5/17 on May 15th, 2009) The Final Countdown, a review by DJ DoenaMay, 2nd Kirk Douglas ... Capt. Matthew Yelland Martin Sheen ... Warren Lasky Katharine Ross ... Laurel Scott James Farentino ... Wing Commander Richard T. Owens / Richard Tideman Ron O'Neal ... Cmdr. Dan Thurman Charles Durning ... Sen. Samuel Chapman Victor Mohica ... Black Cloud Soon-Tek Oh ... Simura Synopsis: Warren Lasky is a civilian consultant whose task is to evaluate the efficiency of the crew of the aircraft carrier USS Nimitz. But shortly after the Nimitz has left Pearl Harbor on December 6th, 1980, the ship encounters an electromagnetic storm none of them has ever seen before. And when they are clear of the storm there are not where they are supposed to be. It's still December 6th - but 1941, one day before the Japanese Empire started its attack on Pearl Harbor. My Opinion: What if? I really like the questions this movie asks - whether or not one is allowed to interfere with things that already happened. And I liked the faces of the senator and the japanese pilot when Owens told them what was about to happen. And I have to say: I love aircraft carries, they are beautiful. And I love it to see planes starting from and landing on them and this movie had plenty of such footage. Duncan MacLeod was born 400 years ago in the scottish Highlands and he is immortal - at least as long as nobody cuts his head off. He is not alone. There are more immortals out there like him and they all are waiting for the Gathering, when only few of them are left alive and they fight for The Prize. What happened before? For this series to work it has to be places in an alternate reality then the first Highlander movie (Why do I say "the first Highlander movie?" There is only one Highlander movie ). In the movie Connor MacLeod fought against Kurgan in the Gathering and won The Prize. "The Gathering" A young man breaks into Duncan MacLeod's antiques store and is mistaken for an immortal. But then the immortal Slan Quince enters and is going for Duncan's head. Additionally another immortal arrives: Connor MacLeod, the same clan but another vintage. But Slan doesn't give up that easily, he wants Duncan's head badly... My Opinion I really liked the show especially with the flashbacks to former times. But it was really sad when Tessa died.
