The Bat, a review by addicted2dvdTV Stars in the Movies Marathon Title: The Bat Year: 1959 Director: Crane Wilbur Rating: NR Length: 80 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital Mono Subtitles: N/A Stars: Vincent Price as Dr. Malcolm Wells Agnes Moorehead as Cornelia Van Gorder Gavin Gordon as Lieutenant Anderson John Sutton as Warner Lenita Lane as Lizzia Allen Star(s) of TV Series:
Plot:Extras: N/A My Thoughts: This is the first time I ever seen this classic Vincent Price movies. It is on double feature disc with House on Haunted Hill. Another Vincent Price movie. This DVD is put out by the Roan Group and is labeled Horror Classics #3: Vincent Price Collection . But the problem with that is I wouldn't call The Bat a horror movie. It is a murder mystery. But it is one I enjoyed. I am glad I have it in my collection. I admit it was a little strange to see Agnes Moorehead in something other then Bewitched... but she did a good job. Thought she was very believable in the role. I enjoyed the storyline... even though I did guess the murderer ahead of time. I wouldn't say it is completely obvious... but I did guess it about half way through the movie. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: TV Stars in the Movies on March 6th, 2010) The Great Muppet Caper, a review by DragonfireMy Thoughts I remember seeing this movie as a child when it first came out - and I had a set of glasses tied to the movie too. Unfortunately, they all broke. I remember being devastated when my favorite glass, the one with Miss Piggy on it, broke. Anyway, I still love this movie. It is fun and entertaining. Having the characters sort of playing other parts worked very well and the plot was original. Some new Muppet characters turned up once Kermit, Fozzie, and Gonzo were in London. There were some running jokes, like how bad the hotel they were staying at was, and some of the jokes were rather silly, but they all worked for the characters. I just love anything associated with the Muppets, and this is one of the better movies featuring the characters. The Great Muppet Caper (From Dragonfire: What I've Been Watching on February 23rd, 2009) Buffy the Vampire Slayer Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdSeason 4: Disc 4 EPISODE 12: A NEW MAN Feeling suddenly old and useless, Giles drowns his sorrows at a pub with an old friend and sorcerer Ethan Rayne and winds up with much more than just a simple hangover the next morning. My Thoughts: This one was another of the fun episodes for me. These single episode stories that are put in there for fun is what saved this season for me as I never cared much for "The Inititive" story line. Even though I always hated the character of Ethan Rayne... I was almost happy to see him in this season since it had little to do with the season long story line. If I am not mistaken... this is the last we see of him though. EPISODE 13: THE I IN TEAM As Spike tries to elude The Initiative's commandos, Buffy gets a look at the Initiative's underground complex and discovers she's not as welcome as she first thought. My Thoughts: It is an alright episode to me... since I don't care for the main story line. EPISODE 14: GOODBYE IOWA A death inside the Initiative tests Buffy and Riley's relationship, and reveals that there are sinister and deadly aspects of the organization that not even Riley knows about. My Thoughts: Once again.. an alright episode... they are setting up the ending of the main story line here in the last couple of episodes. EPISODE 15: THIS YEAR'S GIRL As Riley joins Buffy in the hunt for one of the Initiative's creations called Adam, Faith awakens to find she's been given one last gift from Mayor Wilkins. My Thoughts: This one perked me back up a bit! Faith is back! Now things are getting interesting again. (From Buffy the Vampire Slayer Marathon on November 21st, 2007) |
