My Thoughts:
This is a movie I just recently got for $5. From what I was able to find out is that it is a Sci-Fi Original Movie. So that right there tells me this Zom-edy (as the back of the case calls it) could be pretty cheesy. So I went into this one with pretty low expectations. And maybe that helped because I actually enjoyed this one. I enjoyed it more then I probably should have. The majority of it's comedy was making cracks at other movies and TV shows. Some of it being pretty stupid... but I found myself laughing anyway. Being a zombie movie there was of course plenty of blood and gore. Some of which looked pretty cool... but there was also some that looked pretty cheesy.  Bottom line is I had a lot of fun watching this movie... even though as a movie lover I knew I shouldn't. So I guess I will have to chalk this one up as a guilty pleasure.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Overview
My thoughtsThankfully this wasn't the total crap that I feared, but also not as good as I had wished. The CGI is actually pretty good for a B-movie like this. Not perfect, but I've seen a lot worse. Grunberg is quite good, and Boyar is really funny as his sidekick.

One thing that works against the film is that the spider is really creepy when it is (relatively) small, but when it gets enormous it just becomes so unbelievable that it's more silly than scary.

Still, this film is a lot better than most of the crap that comes from SyFy or The Asylum. The blu-ray looks and sounds good, but is lacking in features. A trailer is all we get. If you liked Eight Legged Freaks you'll probably like this one too.

The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Due South

What's the show about?
Constable Benton Fraser from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) works as liaison officer in the Canadian consulate in Chicago. He also helps Chicago PD Detective Ray Veccio to solve crimes where he either was made aware of or where his unique skills are essential.

"Pilot"
"If you kill a Mountie, they'll hunt you to the end of the world." After his father was killed, Constable Fraser investigates this "hunting accident" and tracks down a group of hunters who wore new boots, drove a Jeep Wrangler and had big calibre rifles: Americans. He follows their trail down to Chicago and requests to be transferred there. The local police isn't really interested in the case but Detective Veccio helps to uncover that it was a hired hit and the trail leads back to the RCMP.

My Opinion
A cool buddy cop show from the mid-90s which was defined by the different lifestyles and ways of crime-solving of Fraser and Veccio. They were a great team and it was real fun to watch them, especially when Fraser put things in his mouth and Ray was disgusted every time. ;D And I loved the deaf wolf Diefenbaker who could read lips. :)
I can't remember though if I ever saw an episode with Veccio's successor, the new "Ray". But I definitively will do that in the foreseeable future.
