Pterodactyl, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Cameron Daddo Coolio Amy Sloan George Calil Ivo Cutzarida Steve Braun Plot:Extras: Scene Access Bonus Trailers Gallery Production Notes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I wanted to start the day with one I never seen before. When I first saw the trailer for this one it looked cheesy and low budget... yes... but for some reason it also looked like fun to me. Apparently this one originally was shown on the premium channel Showtime. The pterodactyls themselves looked pretty cool. The gore was definitely present in this one as people wore torn apart. Some of the effects here was decent... but other effects were bad... laughable even. Where this one really failed for me was the writing. The dialog desperately needed a re-write... though the basic story was just fine. I did find that the action and effects brought the picture up enough for me to enjoy the movie. So I am surprisingly glad I have this one in my collection... and can definitely see myself watching it again. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 Count: Movie Count: 5 TV Ep. My Thoughts: I have been curious about this animated film since I first seen it listed at Amazon a year or so ago. So needless to say I was excited when a friend of mine gave me the DVD out of her DVD/Blu-ray Combo pack. I have enjoyed the Green Lantern character every since I was a kid. I like how they did this film... making it an anthology. Though I personally would have liked to seen more Hal Jordan in the film. As the stories focused on the others in the Green Lantern Corp. Even with that I enjoyed this one quite a bit... matter of fact it put me in the mood for the live action movie. Worth the time put in to watch it!My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on September 8th, 2013) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
The Simpsons 1.01 Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire (1989-12-17) Writer: Mimi Pond (Writer) Director: David Silverman Cast: Dan Castellaneta (Homer/Grampa/Barney), Julie Kavner (Marge/Patty/Selma/Various (voice)), Nancy Cartwright (Bart/Nelson/Todd/Various (voice)), Yeardley Smith (Lisa/Various (voice)), Harry Shearer (Mr. Burns/Smithers/Flanders/Skinner/Otto), Hank Azaria (Apu/Moe/Wiggum/Carl/Dr. Nick), Jo Ann Harris (Various (voice)), Pamela Hayden (Milhouse/Various (voice)) I have followed the first few years of the Simpsons, but stopped at some point. Not because I thought it was getting bad, but somehow I lost interest. Probably it just got too many episodes and now it is hard to catch up again. I enjoyed this first episode. The animation is not quite as bad as I expected it. It changed a lot though in later seasons. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on July 4th, 2012) |
