Creature from the Black Lagoon, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Richard Carlson Julie Adams Richard Denning Antonio Moreno Nestor Paiva Whit Bissell Plot:Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Featurettes Gallery My Thoughts: This is one I enjoyed very much. I thought the whole story was well done. It is one that kept my interest from the beginning to the end. I also really liked the look they gave Gill-Man... and enjoyed the underwater scenes quite a bit. I was just recently given Creature from the Black Lagoon: The Legacy Collection... and I must say I am not disappointed in the least. The quality is very good (at least on my standard 24in. TV)... and there is a nice selection of extras. This is my third time watching this movie... but I never seen any of the sequels so I am thrilled I finally have this legacy collection release. My Rating Out of a Possible 5 Count: Movie Count: 57 TV Ep. Count: 23 Other Count: 8 I Made It! (10/15) (From Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon: 2010 on October 16th, 2010) Bubba Ho-tep, a review by RichI've reached the Middle East Based on the Bram Stoker Award nominee short story by cult author Joe R. Lansdale, Bubba Ho-tep tells the "true" story of what really did become of Elvis Presley. We find Elvis (Bruce Campbell) as an elderly resident in an East Texas rest home, who switched identities with an Elvis impersonator years before his "death", then missed his chance to switch back. Elvis teams up with Jack (Ossie Davis), a fellow nursing home resident who thinks that he is actually President John F. Kennedy, and the two valiant old codgers sally forth to battle an evil Egyptian entity who has chosen their long-term care facility as his happy hunting grounds. I don't really know what to say about this film In places it was bloody hilarious, at other times ponderous. A dyed black JFK, toilet and erection humour, and satirical undertones, try to punch this low-budget horror in to an additional comedy genre. For a film it is a totally ridiculous idea but seems to work okay. A real 50/50 call, but I think people should watch it and I'd love to hear what they thought of this film. 5/10 (From Around the World in 80 DVD's on January 25th, 2008) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
Plot: It's here! The premiere season of Robot Chicken -- 20 channel flippin', toy murderin', attention-span shatterin', episodes straight from the hellish maw of Adult Swim's late-night lineup! Enjoy bite-sized nuggets of sketch comedy performed by yesteryear's favorite playthings, animated in state-of-the-art stop motion! (Hey, CGI-go straight to hell!) IT'S LIKE A POULTRY PARTY IN YOUR PANTS! Robot Chicken 1.01 The Deep End (2005-04-10) Writer: Doug Goldstein (Writer), Tom Root (Writer), Seth Green (Writer), Pat McCallum (Writer), Matthew Senreich (Writer) Director: Seth Green Cast: Seth Green ( (voice)), Alex Borstein ( (voice)), Chad Morgan ( (voice)), Adam Talbot ( (voice)), Breckin Meyer ( (voice)), Michael Benyaer ( (voice)), Dan Milano ( (voice)), Abraham Benrubi ( (voice)), Seth MacFarlane ( (voice)), Ryan Seacrest (Himself (voice)) This is a series which I had enjoyed watching but it kind of fizzled out during the third season which I still haven't finished watching. The first episode is good but nothing really laugh out loud funny. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on June 25th, 2012) |
