Star Trek (2009), a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Star Trek Year: 2009 Director: J. J. Abrams Rating: PG-13 Length: 127 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.40:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1 Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Chris Pine Zachary Quinto Leonard Nimoy Eric Bana Bruce Greenwood Plot: The future begins in J.J. Abrams' smash hit STAR TREK. When the Romulan Nero comes from the future to take revenge on the Federation, rivals Kirk and Spock must work together to stop him from destroying everything they know. On a thrilling journey filled with incredible action, the new recruits of the U.S.S. Enterprise will voyage through unimaginable danger in one of the biggest and most critically acclaimed movies of the year. Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Deleted Scenes Featurettes Outtakes/Bloopers My Thoughts: I have been wanting to see this one since they first announced that they were making it.... and I just couldn't wait any longer. I will be honest I really know very little about Star Trek. I never seen any of the early movies... it has been years since I seen the original series. With that being the case I can't say whether or not this one fits in right with the rest... but I will say I definitely enjoyed it! It had a lot of great action... and a very good story (even if I got confused at one part... think I stopped paying attention for a minute or two and got lost for a bit). I am definitely glad I caved and got this one. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on November 19th, 2009) The Deadly Mantis, a review by GSyren

Earth has just not been the same without this cosmic superstar and his wisecracking antics! Catch ALF in all 25 out-of-this-world episodes from the complete first season of his award-winning primetime TV hit. A.L.F. Gordon Shumway, last known survivor from the planet Melmac, crash-lands his spaceship into the Tanner family's suburban garage. Willie dubs him "ALF", short for Alien Life Form. After convincing a military officer that they are not harboring a space creature, the Tanners decide to take ALF in as a member of the family. My Thoughts: An entertaining sitcom... though not one of my favorites. I think it lost a little something for me over the years as I remember enjoying it more at the time it originally aired. The DVD release while looks good at first glance has is a let down when you realize that the episodes on this release is the syndicated versions instead of the full original episodes.
