Go, a review by TomTitle: Go Year: 1999 Director: Doug Liman Rating: FSK-16 Length: 98 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1 , German: Dolby Digital 5.1 , Commentary: Dolby Digital Stereo Subtitles: Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hindi, Hungarian, Icelandic, Norwegian, Polish, Swedish, Turkish Stars: Katie Holmes Sarah Polley Jay Mohr Timothy Olyphant William Fichtner Extras: Commentary Deleted Scenes Music Videos Production Notes Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: I enjoy this movie every time I watch it. Nicely executed story which is told from different point of views. To be precise, it shows the story of different sets of characters and how they intertwine. Similar to Pulp Fiction. This movie is one I constantly have to think of because of two reasons: 1) Everytime I watch a Columbia Pictures movie, I expect their logo at the beginning to be interrupted the same way as in this movie. It just stuck in my mind for some reason. 2) When I was on the search for a new user name a few year ago, I just had recently watched this movie and the name Todd Gaines just stuck in my head. I replaced "Todd" with my similar sounding real first name and "TomGaines" was born You may remember one of my old avatars, which is a screenshot from this movie of the character Todd Gaines Maybe I should switch back to it some day. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, German: Dolby Digital 5.1, Italian: Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1 Subtitles: English, German, Italian, Spanish Stars: Frank Welker Gregg Berger Wally Wingert Audrey Wasilewski Jason Marsden Plot: Garfield is back! Follow our tubby tabby as he takes the plunge and flees his comfortable cartoon world for the 'real world'. Escaping the boredom of cartoon life, Garfield soon realises that real life felines don't enjoy nearly as much fun as cartoon cats do... as blood thirsty Chihuahuas and body building canines challenge him at every turn. But with the help of some new pals and some trusted old friends, Garfield's wacky adventures teach him where him home really is. Extras: Featurettes Interactive Game Scene Access My Thoughts: This movie is also part of the cheap Garfield movie boxset. When the movie started, I thought "Oh, is this bad". But once you get used to the animation style, it is not that bad. It has quite a few nice ideas. I especially liked how they are producing the comic strips, and how the "real" world is separated from the "comic" world through the comic strips in the newspapers and how the character can watch the "real" world through these comic strips.Rating: (From Tom's Random Reviews on August 15th, 2009) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom
The Simpsons 1.01 Simpsons Roasting on an Open Fire (1989-12-17) Writer: Mimi Pond (Writer) Director: David Silverman Cast: Dan Castellaneta (Homer/Grampa/Barney), Julie Kavner (Marge/Patty/Selma/Various (voice)), Nancy Cartwright (Bart/Nelson/Todd/Various (voice)), Yeardley Smith (Lisa/Various (voice)), Harry Shearer (Mr. Burns/Smithers/Flanders/Skinner/Otto), Hank Azaria (Apu/Moe/Wiggum/Carl/Dr. Nick), Jo Ann Harris (Various (voice)), Pamela Hayden (Milhouse/Various (voice)) I have followed the first few years of the Simpsons, but stopped at some point. Not because I thought it was getting bad, but somehow I lost interest. Probably it just got too many episodes and now it is hard to catch up again. I enjoyed this first episode. The animation is not quite as bad as I expected it. It changed a lot though in later seasons. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on July 4th, 2012) |
