Plot:
Josie (Rachael Leigh Cook, Antitrust), Melody (Tara Reid, American Pie 2) and Val (Rosario Dawson, Down To You) are life-long friends determined to take their band out of the garage and into the stratosphere - while staying true to their own look, style and sound.

The band is soon discovered by hot-shot manager Wyatt Frame (Alan Cumming, Spy Kids) who introduces them to MegaRecords CEO Fiona (Parker Posey, Best In Show) as the next best thing.

Within days they have the number one single in the country, but they soon discover that all is not what it seems. Fiona and Wyatt have devised a hi-tech plan to control the youth of America through their music. It's time for Josie and the Pussycats to bare their claws and fight back.

Featuring a fantastic soundtrack awarded **** by Empire.

My Thoughts:
I just love this movie. And I really like the music in it (I even have the soundtrack). It's just such a nice feel-good movie. Sadly this was a boxoffice flop (undeservedly so). As far as I know, this was the last big studio movie, that the beautiful Rachael Leigh Cook was in.
Also the other cast members are great in this movie. Like Rosario Dawson as Val. I especially liked Tara Reid's performance as the bubbly Melody. I think it is the best role of her career. She always reminds of Bubbles from the Powerpuff Girls here.
Also fun is the uncredited appearance by Seth Green, Brecklin Meyer and Donald Faison as the boygroup parody.
The singing voice of Josie is provided by the singer of the band "Letter to Cleo". Coincidentally, she also appeared in another movie I have watched today ("10 Things I Hate About You". As the blonde singer of Kat's favorite band). This makes the soundtrack to this movie like a solo album of hers.

Savage Grace, a review by KinkyCyborg

Savage Grace

Title:Savage Grace
Year: 2007
Director: Tom Kalin
Rating: NR
Length: 98 Min.

Subtitles: English, Spanish

Stars:

My Thoughts:

Very bizarre and disturbing movie. Based on a the true story of the prestigious Baekeland family, founders of Bakelite plastics. A more screwed up family you'll likely never encounter as adultery, paranoia, dementia and incest were common, ongoing themes throughout the movie.

I'll certainly give it marks for uniqueness... can't say I've seen a movie that even remotely resembled this but I mostly disliked it. Not for the subject matter, but for the wandering lack of direction that left me mostly baffled. Even when the son performs his concluding act I still couldn't figure out how the hell it even reached a conclusion.

Too chaotic for me. I believe director Tom Kalin was going for the shock factor and had he been more purposeful with his storytelling he might have achieved it but overall this was an awful mess.

My Pilot/Finale Episode Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Buffy the Vampire Slayer

Pilot:
Welcome to the Hellmouth/The Harvest
Teenage vampire slayer Buffy Summers moves to a new town to make a fresh start, but finds her powers are sorely needed. As Buffy tries to settle into her new surroundings, she is called upon to stop the Master Vampire from destroying the earth.

As Willow searches for information on 'The Harvest', Buffy goes after Jesse but is already too late. The vampires attack the bronze to begin the ceremony and Buffy must intervene to save everyone.

My Thoughts:
Another of my favorite shows. This was a strong start to the series which only got better. After watching all the seasons not all that long ago... I was surprised how much I enjoyed watching the episodes again so soon.

Finale:
Chosen
The final battle begins as Buffy, Spike, Anya, Willow and the continuously growing amount of Potentials take on the First's Turok-Han army as Sunnydale is finally engulfed into the Hellmouth.

My Thoughts:
Another series that I think ended well. definite closure on this series. Even with the closure... it just felt like there was more story to tell. I personally would love to see a reunion movie for this series before too much longer.
