Big Top Pee-wee, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Big Top Pee-wee Year: 1988 Director: Randal Kleiser Rating: PG Length: 86 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, English: Dolby Digital Surround, French: Dolby Digital Mono Subtitles: English Stars: Paul Reubens [Pee-wee Herman] Penelope Ann Miller Kris Kristofferson Valeria Golino Wayne White Plot:Extras: Scene Access Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Let me start off by saying that I never cared much for Pee-wee Herman. I have never found him to be anything but annoying. I wouldn't have ever had this in my collection but a good friend of mine had this in a big box full of DVDs she gave me when she was cleaning out her collection.... back in October 2007. And it has been sitting in my unwatched shelf every since. Since Achim listed it in the movies he would like to see me review I figured I may as well finally get it off this shelf. So obviously I went into this one not expecting much entertainment at all. But OMG... 10min into this one I didn't think I would be able to make it through this one. By half way through I couldn't take any more of it. Of course I am not surprised at all... because I always had this impression of Pee-wee Herman... but I found this movie to be no more then silly, childish and completely ridiculous. I do realize that is the entire point... but it is just not for me. I just could not see past all that to find any type of entertainment value. I will have to see if Brittany wants to give it a chance. If she wants it... she can have it. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 ZERO (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unwatched DVDs on January 9th, 2010) Star Trek, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Star Trek Year: 2009 Director: J. J. Abrams Rating: PG-13 Length: 127 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.40:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, French: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Chris Pine Zachary Quinto Leonard Nimoy Eric Bana Bruce Greenwood Karl Urban Plot: The future begins in J.J. Abrams' smash hit STAR TREK. When the Romulan Nero comes from the future to take revenge on the Federation, rivals Kirk and Spock must work together to stop him from destroying everything they know. On a thrilling journey filled with incredible action, the new recruits of the U.S.S. Enterprise will voyage through unimaginable danger in one of the biggest and most critically acclaimed movies of the year. Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Deleted Scenes Featurettes Outtakes/Bloopers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is the second time I have watched this movie since I bought it last November. I definitely enjoyed it! It had a lot of great action. This movie did a wonderful job at revitalizing the dying franchise. I loved what they did with all the characters. I don't think you could ask for a better cast. I thought the effects were just stunning. Up to this point The Wrath of Khan has been my favorite Star Trek movie. This one is right up there with it. I don't think I could choose what is better between the two. I think that would depend on my mood. If I felt like something with the extra stunning effects or what. Story-wise... for me... it is pretty darn close. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: The Final Frontier on August 15th, 2010) The One Where It All Began: The Pilot Marathon, a review by DJ DoenaMarried with Children What's the show about? Al Bundy sells (sometimes) women shoes. Peggy Bundy is a "housewive". They live together with their two children and lead a "normal" suburban life. "Pilot" The Bundys have got new neighbors: the Rhodes and Peggy decides to invite them over on the evening Al wanted to go to a basketball game. My Opinion MWC was a good show for its time, but I wouldn't watch it nowadays. I learned that lesson after I bought the first season.
