Dr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas, a review by addicted2comicsDr. Suess' How the Grinch Stole Christmas Plot: The classic story of a creature in Whovile who plots to stop Christmas from coming, brought to life by none other than Jim Carrey. My Thoughts: First let me start off by saying Jim Carrey is one of my favorite comedy actors ever. I like how the writers went into the Grinch's past, explained why he hated Christmas, and gave him a love life. It was hilarious at every turn in my opinion, but nothing really made me laugh out loud.I'll give this movie a 4 out of 5. (From Addicted2comics(:P)'s Official Review Thread!!! on December 21st, 2009) The Missing, a review by addicted2dvdThe Missing My Thoughts: This is one that I bought blind on the star power of Tommy Lee Jones... who I have been a fan of for quite a while now. This one is a little over the average movie length as it clocks in at 2hrs 17min. I have the Superbit version of this DVD. And let me tell you... maybe it is because I don't have a high def TV... but I don't see any difference quality wise between these Superbit DVDs and the regular releases. It seems like to me that it is just an excuse not to add any extras to the release. The movie itself is very good... I enjoyed every moment of it. There is one part of the movie I am not really happy about... which I won't spoil here. Sure... it makes for a stronger story... but I just didn't care for it. As always Tommy Lee Jones did a fantastic job. I have liked him in everything I have seen him in. Very talented guy! My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 Trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o_pA0DpHqh8 (From My Western Marathon on April 17th, 2009) Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews, a review by TomStar Trek: The Next Generation 6.04 Relics Writer: Ronald D. Moore (Writer) Director: Alexander Singer Cast: Patrick Stewart (Capt. Jean-Luc Picard), Jonathan Frakes (Cmdr. William Riker), LeVar Burton (Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge), Michael Dorn (Lieutenant Worf), Gates McFadden (Dr. Beverly Crusher), Marina Sirtis (Counselor Deanna Troi), Brent Spiner (Lt. Commander Data), Lanei Chapman (Ensign Sariel Rager), Erick Weiss (Ensign Kane), James Doohan (Scotty), Stacie Foster (Bartel), Ernie Mirich (Waiter), Majel Barrett (Computer Voice (voice)) Scotty ends up in the 24th century. I always enjoyed this episode. We even get to see the bridge of the old Enterprise again (on the holodeck). It is handled well how Scotty must feel being thrown into a future where his engineering knowledge is out-of-date. Rating: (From Tom's Random Star Trek Reviews on November 1st, 2011) |
