Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Featurettes Gallery Music Videos Outtakes/Bloopers Closed Captioned My Thoughts: This is actually only the second time I seen this movie. Unfortunately there is a reason for that. As big of a Spider-Man fan as I am... this is a bit difficult for me to say. But the franchise took a bit of a nose-dive for me with this movie. I mean it is still a decent movie... but it just had so much more potential. Maybe if they didn't try to cram so much into it. I mean they had no less then 3 supervillians in this one movie. Maybe if they concentrated on just one or no more then two at once they would have been able to make it better. And how they handled his... what would you call it? I guess for the lack of a better term... possession that Peter went through with Venom. It just didn't work for me. It seemed to make Peter more idiotic then so much aggressive. What was up with all that stupid dancing? Dancing down the street. Some stupid dance show in that club MJ was singing in... It just didn't fit for me. With all that said... it is still Spider-Man... it is still loaded with action... it still looked incredible. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Marvel Movie Marathon on June 25th, 2010) Saawariya, a review by dfmorgan
Year: 2007 Director: Sanjay Leela Bhansali Cast: Salman Khan, Rani Mukherjee, Ranbir Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor Overview: From Sanjay Leela Bhansali, one of India's most acclaimed cinema directors comes a love story. Saawariya is a tender and romantic musical which centres around the chance encounter of two people Raj (Ranbir Kapoor) and Sakina (Sonam Kapoor) and an impromptu romance that's initiated in the remote picturesque town of Simla, a quaint hill station in Northern India. Watched: 13th Feb. 2011 My Thoughts: This film is based on the story "White Nights" by Fyodor Dostoevsky, not a work or author that I have ever read therefore I cannot compare them. The film is set in a red-light district and Gulab (Rani Mukherjee), one of the women who work there, relates a story that takes place over four or five nights. A wandering musician, Raj (Ranbir Kapoor), arrives in town and meets a young woman, Sakina (Sonam Kapoor), crying on a bridge. She is pining for her love, Imaan (Salman Khan), to return from whence he had wandered. The tale is about unrequited and requited love and although I guessed part of the ending I didn't expect the final outcome. My Rating: An enjoyable 3 (From Dave's DVD/Blu-ray Reviews on February 13th, 2011) Angel Marathon, a review by DJ DoenaDisc 5 Players Synopsis: Gwen comes to the hotel to ask for Gunn's help. They try to rescue a little girl who is held captive by a japanese business man. But then everything is different. My Opinion: Good out-of-the-arc episode, but I thought that Gunn and Fred had made up again. But finally Cordelia's cover has blown. Inside Out Synopsis: Cordelia has unwillingly unmasked herself but Conner didn't see it, thus rescueing and hiding her. The gang tries to find out if that is really Cordelia and what happened to her. And Angel has to prevent that the "child" is being born.My Opinion: Tell me what you want, but I don't believe that they've planned this for several seasons. I think they made that up in the course of the fourth season and simply redefined former events for their purposes. Since Angelus has killed the demon we obviously have a new one now. Shiny Happy People Synopsis:My Opinion: What was that? The story drops from one episode to another from "very interesting" to "boring". I like Gina Torres, but I nearly dozed off.The Magic Bullet Synopsis: Fred has seen through the mask and she saw the true face of Jasmine. But she is hunted by Gunn and Wesley. Yet she has found a way to break though the mask to show people her true face.My Opinion: It doesn't get better. OK, the majority of the gang is in the clear now, but kumbaya-Jasmine is simply boring. At least there are only 3 episodes left until the season ends. (From Angel Marathon on February 24th, 2008) |
