Seedpeople, a review by GSyren

TitleSeedpeople
Year1992
DirectorPeter Manoogian
StarsSam Hennings, Andrea Roth, Dane Witherspoon, Bernard Kates, Holly Fields
OverviewThe sleepy little town of Comet Valley has been invaded by plants from outer space. Intent on taking over the Earth, the space plants have found a way to pollinate humans, thus turning them into walking seed carriers.

Can the resourceful residents fight off the alien invaders, or is the planet doomed to become an alien garden?
My thoughtsFrom an idea by [executive producer] Charles Band. Well, let me guess what ideas good old Charlie had:
* We can take the story from Invasion of the Body Snatchers, add some monsters and a little blood, and nobody will see the connection. Fail!
* We let John Carl Buechler build the monsters. He'll do a terrific job of it. Fail!
* It'll be as good as the original. Heck, it'll be even better. Epic fail!

It's not the worst movie I've ever seen. But that's not saying much, because I've seen some real turkeys. But there's hardly anything good about it either. It's silly without being funny. Story, acting, directing, everything is just mediocre.
If you want to see Invasion of the Body Snatchers, see the original. Or even any of the official remakes. The '78 remake is almost as good as the '56 original. The '93 remake by Abel Ferrara is so-so, but hey, it's got a young Gabrielle Anwar. This one is pretty much just a waste of time.

My Thoughts:
This is the first time I ever watched this movie. Before putting the movie on I watched the trailer. And going by the trailer I was a little concerned about this one. As it looked like it had equal chances of being good or a God Awful mess. While there was some scenes that peaked my interest... for the most part I really couldn't get into it. I found most of the movie to be basically boring. I just couldn't get into the story.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

13. SEX, LIES AND VIDEOTAPE
Photo finish? A cuddy shot of Superman with a married woman (Lois!) destroys the MAN OF STEEL's wholesome image.

My Thoughts:
This is a good episode. Definitely entertaining. It is basically a story that had to be told the moment that Lois and Clark got together.... an obvious storyline.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

14. MEET JOHN DOE
Dirty politics gets a new layer of slime when fugitive-from-the-future Tempus runs for president.

My Thoughts:
As always... the Tempus episodes are good. This is the first of a 2 part episode. Ends in a very good cliffhanger... especially the first time you see the episode.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

15. LOIS AND CLARKS
One Tempus, one H.G. Wells, two Clark Kents. add them up and you have time-warp adventure aplenty.

My Thoughts:
A very good conclusion to the last episode. And good to see the character of H.G. Wells in it to come help Lois and Clark. I thought they did a good job bringing the alternate universe's Clark over... but it did almost feel... I don't know... just not quite right on how Clark's parents took the news and accepted him. You would think there should have been plenty of tension there... and that just didn't come through in the episode. But it didn't take away from the story too much.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

16. AKA SUPERMAN
A pretty coed with the hots for Superman is sure she's discovered his secret identity - Jimmy Olsen!

My Thoughts:
This one is a pretty good episode... but somewhat standard. And a 97% match of Jimmy Olsen to Superman?... Come on... you got to be kidding me!

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
