IAn indescribable nightmare begins when a group of young friends, stranded on an isolated road deep in the Appalachian hills of West Virginia, find themselves relentlessly pursued by a force of evil beyond their imagination!

My Thoughts:
Love it when I saw it in a theatre 10 years ago and it haven't change today. This is exactly the kind of horror film that I like. Fast pacing, you don't have any time to relax and breath, no time wasted to explain why it happen or who are those guys, no Deus ex machina at the end, credible acting and some real jump scares (no faking by using music or jumping cat).

One of the best american horror film of the last ten years, Highly recommanded.

My Thoughts:
This pilot movie was included in the complete series set of the 2008 TV Series. OK... I know the popular view of this series is that it is no where near the series that the '80s version was. But you know... I have liked this one since the very first time I have seen it. Not only that... but the more I watch it (this is the 4th time I have seen the pilot movie now) the more I enjoy it! That is not to take anything away from the original version. It is awesome too. But I really enjoyed the upgraded features of K.I.T.T. and I liked the characters as well as the storyline. After watching this pilot movie today... I feel like I could watch the entire series again.

One thing that did bug me about this one though. In the pilot movie they never used the Turbo Boost. You would have thought that would have been a must for the fans of the original. I remember when this originally aired that because it wasn't in (or even mention in) this pilot movie that I was afraid they dropped that all together. But thankfully it was in the series. I was also surprised to see a Special Guest Star credit for David Hasselhoff early on in the credits since he was really only on for a cameo appearance. Really only the matter of 30 seconds to a minute. I also noticed that in this pilot movie they made it very clear that Sydney Tamiia Poitier's character, FBI Agent Carrie Rivai, is a lesbian... which if I am remembering correctly... is something they totally dropped from the actual series.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Grosse Pointe: The Complete Series (2000/United States)
IMDb | Wikipedia

(United States)
Length:360 min.
Video:Full Frame 1.33:1
Audio:English: Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
Subtitles:

Plot:
The onscreen melodrama is nothing compared to what happens when the cameras stop rolling on the fictitious primetime soap GROSSE POINTE. The comedy follows the lives of six young actors trying to adjust to the demands of instant stardom, as their hit show launches them into the world of premieres, paparazzi and power. There's the two-faced diva, her insecure best friend, the wide-eyed newcomer who threatens the offscreen balance of power, the surfer stud, the show's heartthrob and his stand-in/gofer. Guiding these "innocents" through the savage world of network presidents and last-minute rewrites are the producers, who live in constant fear of the one misstep that would send ratings plummeting and their careers into oblivion.

Grosse Point
1.01 Pilot
Writer: Darren Star (Writer)
Director: Andrew Fleming
Cast: Irene Molloy (Hunter Fallow), Al Santos (Johnny Bishop), Lindsay Sloane (Marcy Sternfeld), Bonnie Somerville (Courtney Scott), Kohl Sudduth (Quentin King), Kyle Howard (Dave "The Stand-In"), William Ragsdale (Rob Fields), Michael Hitchcock (Richard Towers/Ted Johnson), Nat Faxon (Kevin the P.A.), Michele Dalcin (Mary Johnson), Katie Fountain (Marilyn the Extra), Bonnie McFarlane (Katie Ellis), Lisa Mende (Pat Kemp), Michael Mitz (The Director), Nicole Nieth (Jessica), Martin Spanjers (Adam), Jeb Armstrong (Ira)

I was really surprised about this series. I would have liked to see more of it than the one season we got. My favorite character is the one played by Lindsay Sloane (who I liked as Valerie on Sabrina the Teenage Witch).
