Plot:
Talk about killing your appetite!  Two small town restaurant owners cook up a macabre scheme with the local undertaker to make a fortune.  Their new menu is a hit - people are literally dying to get into the joint.  However, two detectives soon suspect that the main ingredient isnt FDA approved.

My Thoughts:
For my fist review in this new topic I wanted to talk about a good little known movie and after some research in my collection I've found one that I've not seen for ages. This is a movie who was used as a second and third films features at the drive-in by Ted V. Mikels (The Corpse GrindersDon't Answer the Phone!) and Ray Dannis (The Corpse Grinders).

Evidently the movie is far from perfect since this is a low budget production. Some member of the cast are awfull (the actor playing the first victim dad is the worst) and we have the precense of the usual continuity time shifting (one poursuit at the end start at night and everything became sunny and bright very rapidly). The movie is cut too and it's evident, but those cuts has been made by Mikels before the film was released so it's impossible to see it complete.

This is a good little film, but the original DVD is OOP and cost 40$ and more for  a new copy. It doesn't worth that so don't buy it for this price, but with some research it's possible to find it in some budget collection. My copy was released in 2002 by one Canadian label and this one too is curently impossible to find. Sorry I really feel like I tease you too much.

Edge Of Darkness, a review by KinkyCyborg

Edge Of Darkness

Director: Martin Campbell
Rating: R
Length: 117 Min.
Video: Widescreen :1

Stars:
Mel Gibson
Ray Winstone

Plot:Extras:

My Thoughts:

Thought I would check out Edge Of Darkness which is Mel Gibson's latest and it has been a long time coming. Mel is violent, profane, abusive, says exactly what's on his mind.... all that and the movie hasn't even started!

Jokes aside, in spite of all his troubles in the tabloids, Mel can still act and very much commands presence on screen. He is starting to show the wear and tear of life with stark, craggy features that suited him perfectly for this role as a grieving father who is investigating the murder of his daughter in a nothing to lose fashion.

This was riveting and despite how long Gibson had been out of the game he can still cut the mustard in action/thriller roles. Several WOW moments and constant thrills that hurtle you towards a traumatic ending make this a great watch. Ray Winstone was also great as the dapper 'fixer' whose own ironic dilemma makes his end move so poetic.

Gibson's still got it. I'd love to see more movies out of him. Even more so I'd like to see some more directorial efforts from him. C'mon Mel... get your shit together...  :drunk:

Babylon 5: Marathon, a review by DJ Doena

Disc 2

Voices of Authority

Synopsis: Draal invites Sheridan to Epsilon 3 to search and contact the First Ones but Sheridan is distracted with the arrival of his new political officer from Earth.

My opinion: The direction in which Earth policy is developing is quite alarming. Did anyone recognize the off-voice to whom Clark was speaking? It was Mr. Morden's voice, so the Shadows are also involved in the murder of the former Earth Alliance president Santiago.

Dust to Dust

Synopsis: Someone smuggles a drug called "Dust" onto the station. Dust gives temporarily teep abilites to normal humans. But it has strong side effects and is highly addictive. Bester comes to the station to catch these dealers, too.

My opinion: One does not know it yet, but this is a very important episode in G'Kar's character developement and I also liked the idea of disabling Bester's abilities via the sleeper drugs Ivanova's mother was forced to take.

Exogenesis

Synopsis: There is an alien parasite that takes over the bodies of lurkers in down below. But the parasites aren't what they appear to be.

My opinion: The idea of symbiotes who keep the knowledge of the universe is interesting and the story was well told.

Messages From Earth

Synopsis: During archiological diggings a Shadow vessel is found on the Jupiter moon Ganymede. This has happend before on a digging on Mars several years back. But back then another Shadow vessel nourished the first on and both escaped. Bujt this time Earth wants the knowledge of that ship and the Babylon 5 crew cannot allow to let the ship fall into Earths hand.

My opninion: Great action flick. It shows what the White Star is capable of. Sheridan had to take a stand. His own government in league with the shadows wasn't something he could bear and he made his point very clearly although no one on Earth knows it - yet.
