ChocolatOverview:
"Erotic, sophisticated, and distinctive" (L.A. Weekly), this enthralling depiction of a family's struggle during the final years of French colonialism in Africa takes a profound look at the intricate nature of relationships in a racist society. A story of exclusions, betrayals and agonizing comprises, this "remarkable and quietly devastating" (The Boston Globe) film is truly "extraordinary" (InterviewMy Thoughts:

Looney Tunes: Back in Action , a review by Dragonfire

Looney Tunes: Back in Action

Yikes! The fate of the human race is in the hands of Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, teaming to wreck hilarious comic mayhem in a fast-paced family adventure combining live-action (starring Brendan Fraser, Jenna Elfman, Steve Martin and more) with animation (a hilarious cavalcade of Looney Tunes greats). Join the Tunesters as they try to obtain the powerful Blue Monkey gem and stop Acme Corp.'s grab for weird wide worldwide domination. Connect with your inner Daffy for hare-brained wit and mystery most fowl. For pratfalls and movie in-jokes. For Acme anvils. For more fun than you can catch in just one viewing. The Looneytics are running the asylum. Welcome to 'their' world.

My Thoughts

I love the Looney Tunes characters and cartoons.  I saw this movie in the theater when it came out.  Yes it is silly, but that silliness works for the movie and helps to make it fun and entertaining.  The idea of cartoon characters being real and able to interact with real people is something that came up in Who Framed Roger Rabbit, another movie I really enjoyed.

The plot is very simple, but it manages to be entertaining.  There is a decent amount of humor to what is going on, though there is a lot of silliness to the humor.  That may bother some people, but I think it works for the movie and helps make things more entertaining.  Even the action is more silly and humorous.

Several different Looney Tunes characters turn up throughout the movie, though many of them are just briefly shown and don't actually do much.  The characters are entertaining, though it would have been nice if some of them had more to do.  Bugs and Daffy receive the most attention since they are in most of the movie.  The two of them don't always get along, which fits with how the characters were established originally in the cartoons.  The human characters are a bit over the top, which does work for the plot.  Steve Martin does a really good job as the villain.

I did post a review about this after seeing the movie in the theater.

Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvd

Monster Squad
Originally screend on Saturday mornings on NBC in the late 70's The show stars Fred Grandy (The Love Boat) as Walt, a criminology student working as a night watchman in a wax museum. To pass the time, Walt built a prototype "Crime Computer". When Walt plugged in his Crime Computer, the "oscillating vibrations" broght to life three legendary monsters. Dracula, The Werewolf and Frankenstein. These creatures hated and feared for centuries are now determined to make up for their past misdeeds by using their unique abilities to fight crime and bust super villians wherever they find them. Together they are the Monster Squad!

Monster Squad was a hugely popular Saturday morning kids action adventure series created by the same team that brought you the infamous 1960's Batman series. Now for the first time ever on DVD see all 13 episodes of this classic series now fully restored to it's former glory!

Queen Bee
The Queen Bee (Alice Ghostley) tries to make Dracula her mate...

My Thoughts:
This show I wouldn't expect any adult to get for themselves for any other reason then pure nostalgia. This is not what you would call interesting for an adult mind. I only got this set because I watched it as a kid. And let me tell you it is hard to watch as an adult. Sure there is a little nostalgia for me on watching it. But there is no way I could watch any more then 1 episode here and there.

My Raitng:
