Boiling Point, a review by KinkyCyborg

Title:Boiling Point
Year: 1992
Director: James B. Harris
Rating: R
Length: 92 Min.
Video: Pan & Scan 1.33:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround
Subtitles:

Stars:
Wesley Snipes
Dennis Hopper
Lolita Davidovich
Viggo Mortensen
Seymour Cassel

Plot:
They've got guns and a deadly plan. They're killing cops and hitting the mob. A smooth-talking crime sleaze and his quick-fingered accomplice are not afraid of anyone. But they should be. They've crossed paths with Treasury Agent Jimmy Mercer (Wesley Snipes), a cop at his Boiling Point.

Snipes and Dennis Hopper turn up the heat in this tightly wound police-action manhunt. Mercer is tough, proud, married to his job...and not above stretching the law to smoke out his partner's killers. Hopper is Red, a scam artist looking for a last big score and running out of options. He'll play those options to the max. He could be playing into Mercer's hands.

Extras:
Scene Access
Closed Captioned

My Thoughts:

Wesley Snipes cop flick from when he was still relevant. Now he seems to be in the same boat as Cuba Gooding Jr.... even worse actually.

Good story, great action and an amazing cast that includes the late Dennis Hopper, Lolita Davidovich (schwing!), Viggo Mortensen, Dan Hedaya, Seymour Cassell and even a pre-Jigsaw Tobin Bell.

Looks like Snipes finally had a meaningful role once again in the recent Brooklyn's Finest with Richard Gere, Don Cheadle and Ethan Hawke. New Jack City remains one of my most favorite gang movies of all time and for that reason alone I hope that this might be the beginning of a rebound for him, similar to Mickey Rourke's recent resurrection. After he finishes serving his jail sentence that is...  :bag:

I Drink Your Blood, a review by Jimmy

MOVIE / DVD INFO:

Title: I Drink Your Blood (1970)
Genre: Horror
Director: David Durston
Rating: NR
Length: 1h23
Video: Full Frame
Audio: English
Subtitles: None

Stars:
Bhaskar Roy Chowdhury
Jadine Wong
Rhonda Fultz
George Patterson
Riley Mills

Plot:
It's Night of the Living Dead meets Charlie Manson in this gore-drenched 1971 drive-in classic. After consuming rabies-infected meat pies, an LSD-addicted hippie cult goes on a vicious murdering rampage! Heavily censored since its original release, this infamous landmark of cinematic brutality is being presented for the very first time in America in all its blood-splattered glory.

My Thoughts:
First american to receive a X rating only because of its violence, evidently 43 years later this isn't that violent. But except for this trivia fact does it worth a watch? Of course it does. Not only because it is well writen, not only because David Durston is a good director, not only because it was made in a real deserted small town, not only because the acting isn't too bad, but also because it was the first film of Lynn Lowry.

Recommanded.

Veronica Mars Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Season 2: Disc 1

1. Normal Is the Watchword
After the summer fireworks caused by a dangerous confrontation with Lilly Kane's murderer and a surprising visitor at her door, Veronica attempts to settle into "normal" life, complete with a new after-school job and a return to the popular fold at Neptune High, but she gets pulled back into the investigation business when Wallace is kicked off the basketball team for testing positive for drugs.

My Thoughts:
Awesome job on the season 2 premiere. And hello to another TV show star that I always liked... Charisma Carpenter (Buffy & Angel) as Kendall.  This episode did what any good season premiere would do... draw you right in to the new storyline right away.

2. Driver Ed
After tragedy strikes Neptune, Calif. and the local sheriff rushes to judgment, an emotional Veronica attempts to help a grieving family member rule out suicide as a contributing cause in the calamity.

My Thoughts:
Very good continuation from where the previous episode left off. The new season long mystery for season 2 really started out with a bang!

3. Cheatty Cheatty Bang Bang
Beaver believes that his sexy stepmother Kendall is cheating on his father, so he hires Veronica to investigate the situation, but neither are prepared for what they find.

My Thoughts:
A great episode with the always lovely Charisma Carpenter. I don't know what else to say other then it turned out to be a really well done episode... and I enjoyed every minute of it!

4. Green-Eyed Monster

My Thoughts:
This is another good episode... though not one I would call a favorite from the second season. Nothing wrong with it... but I learned to expect just a tad more from this series... sure call me spoiled if you want... but I always expect the best from this show for some reason.
