On Her Majesty's Secret Service, a review by GSyren
(From Reviews and ramblings by Gunnar on March 26th, 2013) Rocky Balboa, a review by addicted2dvdTitle: Rocky Balboa Year: 2006 Director: Sylvester Stallone Rating: PG Length: 102 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, French: Dolby Digital 5.1, Commentary: Dolby Digital Surround Subtitles: English, French, Spanish Stars: Sylvester Stallone Burt Young Antonio Tarver Geraldine Hughes Milo Ventimiglia Plot: When he loses a highly publicized virtual boxing match to ex-champ ROCKY BALBOA (Sylvester Stallone), reigning heavyweight titleholder Mason Dixon (Antonio Tarver) retaliates by challenging the Italian Stallion to a nationally televised, 10-round exhibition bout. To the surprise of his son (Milo Ventimiglia, TV's "Heroes") and friends, Rocky agrees to come out of retirement and face an opponent who's faster, stronger and thirty years his junior. With the odds stacked firmly against him, Rocky takes on Dixon in what will become the greatest fight in boxing history, a hard-hitting, action-packed battle of the ages! Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Outtakes/Bloopers DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned My Thoughts: I enjoyed every one of the previous Rocky movies (sure some were better then others... but liked them all)... but really can't compare this one to them as I haven't seen any of them in many years. What I can say is that I did enjoy it a lot! Sure... it is unbelievable. But that just didn't matter while watching the movie. It reminded me quite a bit of the first Rocky movie. I think it is a hell of a way to end the franchise. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 NOTE: Jimmy... I already have a review up for this. So don't need to add it again. This one does have a little more info if you want to replace the old one with this one. (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Anything Goes on January 1st, 2010) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdFirefly Five hundred years in the future there's a whole new frontier, and the crew of the Firefly-class spaceship Serenity is eager to stake a claim on the action. They'll take any job, legal or illegal, to keep fuel in the tanks and food on the table. But things get a bit more complicated after they take on a passenger wanted by the new totalitarian Alliance regime. Now they find themselves on the run, desperate to steer clear of Alliance ships and the flesh-eating Reavers who live on the fringes of space. SERENITY - PART 1 & 2 The crew of Serenity is eager to rid themselves of an easily traceable cargo they salvaged from a vessel adrift in space, totally unaware that a passenger has brought an even more dangerous cargo aboard. My Thoughts: This is the first time I watched an episode of this show in a long time. I must say... I forgot just how good it was. It is a shame that FOX didn't give this series more of a chance. The story is good and the characters are likable. This is a show that I blind bought on DVD after a friend recommended it to me. I so easily could continue watching this show... but I want to get further on this marathon right now. My Rating: (From Pete's Pilots on January 25th, 2010) |
