My Thoughts:

This was a fun watch... Haven't seen it since I was a kid. I of course got a kick out of the characters played by Don Knotts and Tim Conway. But the rest of the cast was good too. A nicer blast from the past. Looking forward to watching some more of the films I remember from the "Wonderful World of Disney" line-up.

My Thoughts:
I'm not sure exactly what it is about Van Johnson, but I have a hard time seeing him as a romantic lead, especially paired with Elizabeth Taylor.  The first three quarters of the movie, the two of them are simply care-free, good-time Joe and Jane, kind of taking their marriage for granted.  The transition to the jealous pair came on rather suddenly, and from the one I would have expected it least.  The scene with Van Johnson losing it over his publishers' rejections seemed to come on suddenly as well.  The foreshadowing of the tragedy of the film was also not done with much subtlety.

Even so, Taylor was marvelous, and as radiant as she ever was.  I especially liked the short "french" haircut she sported at the end of the film.  Donna Reed's role was well done, although her turn-about in the end, although predictable, was not really in keeping with the character.  Walter Pidgeon was excellent, as usual.

A good movie for Taylor, in a somewhat mediocre film overall.

My PILOT Marathon, a review by Rich

Supernatural - First Season

Pilot
Sam is about to graduate from college and has an interview set up to join one of the most prestigious law schools in the country. His brother Dean, whom he has not seen since he went to college, shows up in the middle of the night and tells him their father is missing while on a hunting trip. Leaving his girlfriend behind to find their dad, Sam joins Dean in an effort to find their father in a little town called Jericho, where unmarried men disappear without a trace.

Scary just got sexy... After the mysterious disappearance of their father, two brothers seek out and combat paranormal and supernatural events to figure the meaning linking their mother's death whom was killed years earlier by a malevolent poltergeist

This pilot was a pleasant surprise, I went into it knowing nothing about the show and assumed the worst.
Within 5 minutes I had gosebumps
(click to show/hide)
, and several times during the episode I was 'disturbed'  :-[
It was really well put together, effects appeared as though funded by big bucks, the characteris were introduced well, and I am particularly interested to see Jensen Ackles ongoing role as he is new actor to me. The suspense was good, and as said a few hair-raising moments along the way.
I will use this series as filler during my October marathon.
 ;D
