Mr. Destiny, a review by RichMr. Destiny Imagine if one day, out of the blue, your wildest dreams came true! That's exactly what happens to junior executive Larry Burrows (James Belushi - 'Taking Care Of Business') when he bumps into a mysterious stranger (Michael Caine - 'Miss Congeniality', 'The Cider House Rules'). Instantly, Larry's ho-hum life becomes his ultimate fantasy - huge mansion, beautiful wife, cars galore! But before long, his new lifestyle isn't so enchanting. Ultimately, Larry discovers it's going to take a lot more than wishful thinking to get back to where he once belonged! Co-starring 'Terminator 2's' Linda Hamilton and comedian Jon Lovitz ('Little Nicky', 'Rat Race'), 'Mr. Destiny' is a delightful rags-to-riches comedy brimming with totally magical entertainment! My Thoughts: This one is a pure fun action film... a leave your brain at the door, suspend disbelief action joyride. Knowing this is a comic book film helped me suspend disbelief enough to enjoy this one quite a bit. I normally really like Morgan Freeman and he was good in this one. But this time my favorite character had to be Fox played my Angelina Jolie.I thought she was a cool character and done well. Of course this is coming from someone that never read the comic to compare. So I don't know how loyal the film is to the comics. But if you are ever in the mood for an action flick you don't want/need to think about... this one is worth the time put in to watch it. The Man Who Was Death Niles Talbot moved from the country to the big city to get a job as an electrician but ended up as an executioner. His trouble begins when he's suddenly unemployed and decides to take the law into his own hands. Guest Stars: Bill Sadler J.W. Smith Roy Brocksmith David Wohl My Thoughts: This is of course our first look at the Cryptkeeper so he isn't in any special get-up as he likes to do in many of the episodes.... while this first episode is good... it really didn't impress me as much as many of the other ones did. I just didn't find the story that interesting. My Rating: (From Tales from the Crypt Marathon on December 21st, 2009) |
