Iron Man 2, a review by samuelrichardscott

Iron Man 2 (2010) Cinema

Overview:
With the world now aware of his dual life as the armored superhero Iron Man, billionaire inventor Tony Stark faces pressure from the government, the press, and the public to share his technology with the military. Unwilling to let go of his invention, Stark, along with Pepper Potts, and James "Rhodey" Rhodes at his side, must forge new alliances - and confront powerful enemies.

My Thoughts:
Having loved the first movie (4.5/5), I was glad I managed to get away to the cinema to see this and I must say, after reading some mixed opinions, I was pleasantly surprised. The storyline was decent, the casting was excellent (Scarlett Johannson was a great addition), the way the characters were used as a small step towards the upcoming Marvel movies were very well done without being cheesy and Robert Downey Jr. just nailed the humour. It wasn't quite as good as the first but as far as sequels go, this was right up there and I hope it continues with the inevitable third Iron Man movie. 4/5

My Thoughts:
OK... I haven't seen this movie since I was a teen. I have to say... it wasn't as good as I remember it being. I mean I still enjoyed it in a cheesy fun sort of way. But it don't hold up compared to Salem's Lot. But I am sure it is also partially because of my taste in movies maturing... as I did find some of the scenes silly now. But for the most part... still enjoy it... glad I have it in my collection.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom

     Karin: Complete Box Set (2005/Japan)
IMDb | Wikipedia

FUNimation Entertainment, Geneon Entertainment (United States)
Length:600 min.
Video:Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78
Audio:English: Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo, Japanese: Dolby Digital 2.0 Stereo
Subtitles:English

Plot:
In the 21st century, a family of vampires settled down in Japan. They lived among humans and sucked their blood quietly and discreetly. However their daughter Karin had a secret that she could not share with anyone. She did not suck blood like the rest of the family. Instead, her blood level increases! She is a blood making vampire!

Karin
1.01 Bleeding Is Embarrassing

Cast: Japanese Cast), Sayuri Yahagi (Karin Maaka (voice)), Katsuyuki Konishi (Kenta Usui (voice)), Yuka Inokuchi (Anju Maaka (voice)), Dai Matsumoto (Henry Marker (voice)), Emi Shinohara (Carrera Marker (voice)), Nojima Hirofumi (Boogy (voice)), Mikako Takahashi (Maki Tokitou (voice)), Sayori Ishizuka (Class Teacher (voice)), Yuko Gibu (Fukumi Naito (voice)), Takashi Kawakami (Business Man (voice)), Mari Todo (Female Student (voice)), English Cast), Chelsea Curto (Karin Maaka (voice)), Chelsea Curto (Nurse (voice)), Yahav Rom (Kenta Usui (voice)), Marian Elizabeth Spencer (Anju Maaka (voice)), Marian Elizabeth Spencer (Naito (voice)), Paul John Pistore (Henry Marker (voice)), Paul John Pistore (Boogy (voice)), Chio Su Ping (Carrera Marker (voice)), Hillary Blazer-Doyle (Maki Tokitou (voice)), Coral Tong (Teacher (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Narrator (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Ren Maaka (voice)), Jerry Szombathy (Boss (voice)), Meriem Bekka (Fumio Usui (voice))

Karin is teenage vampire. But not the normal kind of vampire. Instead of sucking blood, her blood increases until it is released in violent nose bleeds. Or she bites someone and transfuses this excess blood to the other person. This abnormality also makes her a day person. This all is an embarassment to the family.
The pilot episode is a good introduction. I have also read the manga this series is based. During the first half of the anime, the storyline of the manga is followed, but then with the introduction of an original character halfway through, the story deviates from the manga.
