Overview
My thoughtsFor some reason, Hollywood often seems to create similarly themed movies at the same time. This movie was made about the same time as Elia Kazan's Panic in the Streets. That one was about the bubonic plague, this one is about smallpox. This one was made on a lower budget, but that doesn't necessarily mean that it's inferior.

It's a dark film noir with solid acting for the most part. Among the uncredited performances I'd like to mention Walter Burke as the rather slimy bellhop, and Jim Backus (Gilligan's Island) as one of the smallpox victims.

I found this film quite exciting. We may have other diseases to worry about today, but the theme is as topical today as it was back then. Recommended.

My Thoughts:
This may surprise some of you... but this is the first time I ever seen this film. I have seen both remakes... but never seen the original before today! Something I am glad I finally rectified. Thanks to a good, generous friend that got me a copy after finding out I never seen it before. I must say... I am surprised just how much I enjoyed this one. I definitely prefer it compared to either of the remakes. For such an old film it holds up beautifully. The look of Kong was a lot better then I was expecting considering the age of the film. I must say... I enjoyed every moment of it... one I definitely recommend!

And a big Thank You! to my generous friend for sending me this set!  :thanks:

"Due South" marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Victoria's Secret - Part 1

as was said... this one is more on the side of drama then comedy... though as noted there is some. And I don't know if I am just getting used to it... or what other people has said of the situation changing my mind... but I really didn't mind Fraser's father in this episode. I did definitely have to laugh at the hat thing. I wish we got to find out for sure who shot the wolf... I hope I am wrong but I have a bad feeling it was Victoria. Also this episode is a little longer then the normal... clocking in at 53 minutes. I wonder if part 2 will be longer then usual as well.
