From Russia with Love, a review by TomTitle: From Russia with Love Year: 1963 Director: Terence Young Rating: FSK-16 Length: 110 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.78 Audio: German: Dolby Digital Mono, Spanish: Dolby Digital Mono, English: Dolby Digital Mono, Commentary: Dolby Digital Mono Subtitles: Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, German, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Swedish Stars: Sean Connery Daniela Bianchi Pedro Armendariz Lotte Lenya Robert Shaw Extras: Booklet Commentary Featurettes Photo Gallery Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: I really liked the first half hour or so. The introduction of typical Bond villains (who were obviously the template for Dr. Evil (Blofeld) and Frau Farbisina). Also always fun the scenes with Bond, M and Moneypenny. And now also with Q But then the movie dragged a little for me, beginning with the train ride. But it picked up again towards the end. Rating: (From James Bond Marathon on February 4th, 2009) The Dead Zone, a review by TomTitle: The Dead Zone Year: 1983 Director: David Cronenberg Rating: R Length: 104 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 1.85 Audio: English: Dolby Digital Surround, English: Dolby Digital 5.1, French: Dolby Digital Mono Subtitles: English Stars: Christopher Walken Brooke Adams Tom Skerritt Herbert Lom Anthony Zerbe Plot: Christopher Walken stars in this tense, gripping screen adaption of Stephen King's best-selling novel, The Dead ZoneExtras: Closed Captioned Scene Access Trailers My Thoughts: A good movie. Though I like the TV series better. For those of you, who know the TV series, but not this movie: It's essentially the plot of the pilot episode and the first season's Stillson story arc. And unlike the TV series, we have a proper resolution to the Stillson arc. Ironic is, that Martin Sheen, who plays Stillson whose ambition is to become President of the United States, later plays the president on West Wing. And Christopher Walken, whose character is talking about Sleepy Hollow and the headless horseman, will later play this character in the Tim Burton movie. Sadly it will take at least two or three years until there will be a RC1 boxset release (I usually buy anime only after they are re-released as a boxset and not single volumes).
