Warlock, a review by addicted2dvd

Warlock
Boston. 1691. The gallows await the Warlock (JULIAN SANDS). What was an apparent triumph of Witch Hunter Giles Redferne (RICHARD E. GRANT), is short lived as the Warlock escapes and is hurled 300 years into the future. Now, say a prayer for the City of Angels, for it is here in Los Angeles where he begins the task of reuniting three portions of the Devil's Book that will reveal the secret name of God. If spoken, all creation will be destroyed. Redferne, who is also transported, enlists the aid of Kassandra (LORI SINGER), who has miraculously escaped the Warlock's wrath. But the carnage has begun as the Warlock successfully unites the first two sections. The final portion is buried in an old Boston cemetery...in Redferne's grave! It is on these hallowed grounds where evil magic will confront the strength of righteousness with the future of mankind at stake.

My Thoughts:
This is another one I have always liked a lot. I think Julian Sands did a wonderful job as the Warlock. There is a couple unfortunate points on this DVD... first and foremost... the thing is P&S!  :voodoo: And the other thing is there is very little extras on this disc... all you get is some trailers and filmographies. Maybe with any luck there will be a special edition release for it before too long of a wait. Anyway... great movie.... terrible dvd release! What is one to do? I got this one for my birthday from a good friend last year.

Cold Mountain, a review by Rich

Along Romania for third film of the day...

I had read the book, and IMO this is one of the rare occasions when the film actually matches or surpasses the original authors efforts. Atmospheric, beautifully filmed & combining a war film with a love story, with other elements thrown in. All the actors do a very convincing job, (ignoring the accents), and a solid film if overly long. Recommend watching if not seen before 8/10

Angel Marathon, a review by addicted2dvd

Angel: Season 3

20. A New World
Original Air Date: 5/6/2002
As Angel tries to track down Connor in the streets of L.A., Lilah approaches a despondent Wesley with an offer from Wolfram and Hart.

Guest Stars:
Vincent Kartheiser
Stephanie Romanov
Mark Lutz
Erika Thormahlen

My Thoughts:
While still a good episode... I didn't find this one quite as good as the previous several. While interesting... and I enjoyed the search for Connor and such. I didn't care much for the side storyline. Where Connor meets up with a junkie. And while I understand why it had to be drawn out some... I will be glad to see Wesley back in with the group. But that may take a while yet.

My Rating:
