Where the Heart Is, a review by TomTitle: Where the Heart Is Links: IMDb | Wikipedia
Stars: Dylan Bruno as Willy Jack Pickens Ray Prewitt as Tim Laura House as Nicki Karey Green as Rhonda Natalie Portman as Novalee Nation Plot: Ashley Judd and Natalie Portman star in this offbeat, delicious slice of life about a down-on-her-luck southern teen who, after gaining 15 minutes of fame for giving birth to "The Wal-Mart Baby", begins to put her life together with the help of the kind, quirky strangers who become her surrogate family. Based on the #1 best-selling novel by Billie Letts, this "brilliantly funny, deeply moving, beautifully acted" (KNX/CBS Radio) film co-stars Stockard Channing and Joan Cusack in an inspiring celebration of love and friendship. The two hours ran by fast. Also Ashley Judd did a good job, but it was a little unrealisitic for her character to have five children and still have this great figure. I wonder from where the cover is. It looks like it is for another movie. Ashley Judd, for example, was blonde in this movie. My Thoughts: This is a part of a boxset of thriller and it sure had nothing to do in it. I ain't a big drama fan and certainly less those about familly breakup. So it was not a fun watching time for me, in fact I was unable to watch it without a break (too many bad memory were coming back about my parent separation, it's weird that an event that had happened 26 years ago can always affect you). The film itself is good and certainly well act, nothing bad to say about it. I'm sure that those who like this genre of movie would love this one too, but I will certainly not rewatch it again (fuck, I continue too feel sad writing my review and I fucking hate that).Rating : (From The little known movie review depot on April 3rd, 2009) Pete's Pilots, a review by addicted2dvdALF ALF, the impetuous alien who plummeted from outer space into the Tanner family garage back in '86 is now crash-landing on DVD! Earth has just not been the same without this cosmic superstar and his wisecracking antics! Catch ALF in all 25 out-of-this-world episodes from the complete first season of his award-winning primetime TV hit. A.L.F. Gordon Shumway, last known survivor from the planet Melmac, crash-lands his spaceship into the Tanner family's suburban garage. Willie dubs him "ALF", short for Alien Life Form. After convincing a military officer that they are not harboring a space creature, the Tanners decide to take ALF in as a member of the family. My Thoughts: An entertaining sitcom... though not one of my favorites. I think it lost a little something for me over the years as I remember enjoying it more at the time it originally aired. The DVD release while looks good at first glance has is a let down when you realize that the episodes on this release is the syndicated versions instead of the full original episodes.
