And Then Came Lola, a review by dfmorgan
Year: 2009 Director: Ellen Seidler, Megan Seiler Cast: Ashleigh Sumner, Jill Bennett, Cathy DeBuono Overview: Sizzling lesbian newcomer Ashleigh Summer takes the leading role as Lola alongside cult lesbian heartthrobs Jill Bennett (Dante's Cove), Cathy DeBuono (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, Out At The Wedding) and Jessica Graham (2 Minutes Later) in this sexy lesbian romp inspired by the classic Run Lola Run. Sassy lesbian photographer Lola is on the verge of success in both love and work, yet she could lose it all if she doesn't make it on time to a crucial meeting with her girlfriend. But, as usual, Lola is late! Racing through the streets of San Francisco, Lola gets into an ever increasing number of outrageous scrapes involving ex-lovers, wannabe girlfriends and part-time stalkers. As the clock counts down, Lola realises that it will take more than one chance to make this date... Watched: 29th May 2010 My Thoughts: After Heartless I thought I would go for something a little lighter. I bought this on the premise that it was a rom-com based on Run Lola Run, I film that I enjoyed. However this film has become only the second film that I failed to watch to the end. I watched the first cycle through, but was finding that hard-going, and then started on the second cycle but decided to fast forward and didn't even bother with the third cycle. Whether it was trying to wacth this after Heartless or whether I was too tired, I started watching about 23:20, I just didn't find anything to get into the film. I will have to give this another go but earlier in the evening when I am refreshed and then maybe I'll find more in it. My Rating: For the moment a 2 Dave FYI: I hadn't looked at Tom's review as I didn't want to colour my thoughts but will now see what he thought of this. PS: The only other film that I have failed to watch to the end, so far as I can remember, is Grave of the Fireflies. My failure to watch this is for toally different reasons as what I saw was excellent, worthy of a 5 rating, but I couldn't handle the subject matter. Maybe it is time for me to try to watch this again. edited to correct film title - Thanks Jon (From Dave's DVD/Blu-ray Reviews on May 30th, 2010) Ronin, a review by HalMy first review here at DVD Collector's, so be nice! Dear Boy Original Air Date: 10/24/2000 Angel's continued restless nights takes him all the way back to 1860 London and his first encounter with Drusilla , but when he sees Darla in his waking life, Cordelia, Wesley and Gunn fear he has gone off the deep end and may revert to his evil ways. Guest Stars: Elisabeth Rohm Christian Kane Juliet Landau Julie Benz My Thoughts: Another excellent episode. It was fun seeing Angelus (through flashbacks) with Darla and Drusilla. This is a huge Darla episode... which was cool since I have become a fan of Julie Benz between this show and Dexter. My Rating: (From Angel Marathon on March 2nd, 2010) |
