Hot Fuzz, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Simon Pegg as Nicholas Angel Martin Freeman as Met Sergeant Bill Nighy as Met Chief Inspector Robert Popper as 'Not' Janine Joe Cornish as Bob Plot: Get ready for a gut-busting, outrageous comedy from the guys that created Shaun of the Dead. Nicholas Angel (Simon Pegg) is a big-city cop who can't be stopped - but he's making everyone else on the force look bad. When he is reassigned to a small, quiet town, he struggles with this new, seemingly idyllic world and his bumbling partner (Nick Frost). But their dull existence is interrupted by several grisly and suspicious accidents, and the crime-fighting duo turn up the heat and hand out high-octane, car-chasing, gun-fighting, big-city justice in this hilarious hit critics are calling "Outrageous! Uproariously funny!" (Thelma Adams, US WEEKLY). Extras: My Thoughts: Friends has been recommending this film to me for years... and I finally got around to watching it. I found the movie to be entertaining to say the least, There is a lot of funny stuff here. Some of it on the silly side but that was to be expected going in,,, and it wasn't overly so, It did surprise me a bit to see some graphic violence here... and even that was done in a funny way. Definitely worth checking out if you never seen it. Can easily see myself watching it again. My Thoughts: In honor of George Reeves' birthday today (Jan. 5th)... I thought that I would check this movie out. I been wanting to see it for quite a while now. Over-all I enjoyed this one. But it wasn't quite as good as I was expecting. It could be because I went into this one with somewhat high expectations. But I found it to run a little slow for my taste, and they made use of flashbacks... which is right for the story they were telling... but I personally always preferred a straight story without flashbacks. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From What Movies I Been Watching on January 5th, 2013) Tom's TV Pilots marathon, a review by Tom

Nominated for six Emmy Awards and five Golden Globes, this acclaimed ensemble comedy spanned the hilarious gamut from catwalk to casting couch, chronicles the daily grind of the magazine's quirky staff, serving up all the laughter that's fit to print. Arriving on digitally remastered DVD for the first time. Just Shoot Me! 1.01 Back Issues Writer: Steven Levitan (Created By), Steven Levitan (Writer) Director: Philip Charles MacKenzie Cast: Laura San Giacomo (Maya Gallo), George Segal (Jack Gallo), Wendie Malick (Nina Van Horn), Enrico Colantoni (Elliott DiMauro), Chris Hogan (Wally), David Spade (Dennis Finch), Emily Procter (Anchorwoman), Dave Clark (Anchorman), Scott N. Stevens (Young Father), Shannon Maureen Brown (Lorena), Donna Ponterotto (Receptionist), Raphelle Hink (Raphelle), Joel Traywick (Intern) I enjoy watching this series. I like the snarky one-liners, like the ones David Spade's character comes up with. The first two seasons of this series were released in 2004. The third season five years later. I am still waiting for further seasons to be released. Rating: (From Tom's TV Pilots marathon on June 3rd, 2012) |
