Submerged, a review by Rich

Submerged

Chris Kody, the world's best mercenary, is freed from prison -- but there's a catch. Kody must use his lethal weapons and fighting skills to stop a group of terrorists who have taken over a nuclear sub.

Ageing Seagull, dishes out another tedious flick with the guise of an action movie. Overweight, over-rated and over the hill. Very little action on the diesel sub, and not a terrorist in sight, instead they are mind controlled soldiers, so my cover blurb is totally wrong.
Vinnie does his best to add a bit of humour to proceedings, but he is as bad an actor as he was a footballer. This dvd would best be left sunk at the bottom of the ocean.
Under siege wannabe - go enjoy your retirement Steven!

5ive Days to Midnight, a review by addicted2dvd

5ive Days to Midnight (TV Miniseries)
J.T. Neumeyer, a brilliant physics professor, receives a police file from the future with explicit detail of a gruesome murder - his own. Complete with photos and a list of suspects, the file indicates that the murder will take place in five days. When real-life events begins to mirror those in the report, the skeptical J.T. realizes the file is real and time is quickly running out. He has only days to solve the mystery of his own murder... and hopefully change his destiny.

Stars:
Timothy Hutton as J.T. Neumeyer
Randy Quaid as Irwin Sikorski
Kari Matchett as Claudia Whitney
Hamish Linklater as Carl Axelrod
Angus MacFadyen as Roy Bremmer
Gage Golightly as Jesse Neumeyer

My Thoughts:
This is the 3rd time I watched this miniseries since I bought it. It is one that I have always enjoyed. 5ive Days to Midnight is an entertaining murder mystery with a little bit of sci-fi thrown in. I will admit that some of it is rather predictable... but that didn't take away from the enjoyment.

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5

Firefly Marathon, a review by Tom

08. Out of Gas
Writer: Tim Minear (Writer)
Director: David Solomon
Cast: Nathan Fillion (Mal), Gina Torres (Zoe), Alan Tudyk (Wash), Morena Baccarin (Inara), Adam Baldwin (Jayne), Jewel Staite (Kaylee), Sean Maher (Simon), Summer Glau (River), Ron Glass (Shepherd Book), Steven Flynn (Captain), Ilia Volok (Marco), Lyle Kanouse (Salesman), Dax Griffin (Bester), Roderick L. McCarthy (Lacey #1)

Great transitions between the scenes of Mal's current predictment, how he got there and the flashbacks how the crew got together. Nice that even though the series only lasted 14 episodes we got to have the chance to see the beginnings. Although one thing still is open to which I'd like to see an answer: How and when did it happen, that Zoe goes from disliking Wash to loving him?
