Review
       To Bill Hicks, the bleating of the P.C. sheep in this country was as annoying and painful as someone running their fingernails across a chalkboard. To this end, he would rail and rant against the corrupt machinations of a free enterprise system which has, in the last two and a half decades, run amok over the landscape of our nation. Hicks was not the typical comedian which had sprung up during the comedy club craze of the eighties. Foregoing gags, one-liners and shtick, he blazed a path which had not been trodden down since Lenny Bruce shocked audiences in the sixties. A good example of the difference between Hicks and his contemporaries is in the following exchange between Hicks and his audience;

       Audience: A few drunken patrons scream out in acknowledgement
       Bill Hicks:

       The audience bursts into a spontaneous round of applause and laughter. Now most comedians would have segued-wayed into their next bit with that question, but not Hicks, he could see the hypocrisy and lack of ethical honesty in these professions and in a comical way would deal with them on his terms.

Plot:
The blood orchid - A rare flower that holds the secret of eternal life and a fortune to the pharmaceutical company that finds it. Led by a two-fisted soldier of fortune, a scientific expedition is sent deep into the jungles of Borneo to locate and bring back samples of the legendary plant. Battling their way upriver, the explorers brave poisonous insects, ferocious crocodiles and savage headhunters, unaware they're being stalked by an even greater danger: a nest of giant anacondas, voracious, fifty-foot-long flesh-eaters who'll stop at nothing to protect their breeding ground, the blood orchid's home.

I really enjoyed Anaconda when I saw it... so was looking forward to this one when I found out a friend was giving me a copy. The first thing I notice is this movie stars Kadee Strickland. I am familiar with her as she is in the main cast of the medical drama Private Practice playing Dr. Charlotte King. I have to say I enjoyed this one over-all. It isn't what I would call a great movie.... but I definitely had fun watching it. I did like the first Anaconda movie better... but this one is also worthy of a place in your collection as well.

9. ComplicationsMy comments:
After the fast paced episode 8 is=t was quite reasonable to have things pulled back a bit for episode 9, getting some more character and story development done. There is basically three threads running, one for Sarah (boring), one for Derek (intense) and one for Ellison (short jaw-dropping).

Sarah is having some sort of recurring nightmare involving Cromartie and three dots that even has her sleepwalking. I don't really understand what they were trying to do with this and it had me mostly bored. It was nice to have Dorian Harewood as Dr. Sherman back though.

Derek's story I found very exciting. The slow build up and twists and turns that bring us to the revelation at the end. Two really interesting things are achieved in this episode, one being the discussion about changing the future and the other how they basically got Derek's girlfriend Jesse off the hook "with a whip-pan" . The stuff under her bed shall not be forgotten though...

And then there is Ellison, who gives us a big jaw-dropping moment at the end.
