Carl Parker (The Image)

Plot:
My Thoughts:
Radley Metzger is the best director when we talk of erotic movie and this film is not an exeption. This is the last softcore movie that he direct before he takes the pornographic road for 3 years as Henry Paris. Just this 3 years he had done some of the best adult movie ever made : The Opening of Misty Beethoven (a favourite of mine), The Private Afternoons of Pamela Mann, The Image and Naked Came the Stranger (sadly the DVD is heavily cut). But I'm not here to talk about this phase of his career.

The Score is base on a sucessfull off-broadway show about a sexual game play by one couple. Everyone is well cast in the film even Lynn Lowry (I'm not a big fan of her) in the role of the innocent young married woman. The movie was made in Croatia and the location add to the beauty of it. This film is highly erotic and I have just one warning to make. The game played by Elvira and Jack as one goal : Seduce a member of the same sex, so if this idea repulse you don't watch this. Habitually nobody had a problem with a girl-girl scene, but that's not the same thing with the opposite. Metzger is the only director who can make a man-man scene erotic, there are no penetration shot but Culver and Grant french-kiss each other, caress themselves mutually and use their mouth for something else than kissing (we don't see it really, but I'm sure that you understand what it is). This scene is intercut with the one of Lowry & Wilbur and the editing, the way it's film and the music use make of this one of the best scene I've seen in an erotic movie.

If you can forget the homosexual aspect this is a movie that you could appreciated. I'm 100% straight and I think that it's a masterpiece. Give it a chance, you could be very surprise and discover one of the best director of the sixties and the seventies.

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, a review by RossRoy

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Original Title: Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull
Year: 2008
Country: United States
Director:
Rating: PG
Length: 122 Min.
Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1
Audio: English: Dolby Digital 5.1, French: Dolby Digital 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital 5.1
Subtitles: English, French, Spanish

What they say
'STEVEN SPIELBERG' and 'GEORGE LUCAS' bring you the greatest adventurer of all time in a film packed with "sensational, awe-inspiring spectacles" (Roger Ebert, 'CHICAGO SUN-TIMES'). 'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull' finds Indy (Harrison Ford) trying to outrace a brilliant and beautiful agent (Cate Blanchett) for the mystical, all-powerful Crystal Skull of Akator in a quest that is filled with "spectacular fun" (Claudia Puig, 'USA TODAY'). Teaming up with a rebellious young biker (Shia LaBeouf) and his spirited original love Marion (Karen Allen), Indy takes you on an action-packed adventure in the exciting tradition of the classic 'Indiana Jones' movies!

My Thoughts
Indy's back! That's all I can think of after seeing the movie. It's all there: the impossible situations where Indy gets out with an ever more improbable solution, the bar fights, the car chases, the mythos surrounding it all. This is a fine Indiana Jones. It's got really beautiful set pieces. Some great tongue in cheek humour (even acknowledging Indy age!), the one-liners are there too.

There's iconic images that stick to my mind after seeing this movie.

I love the Indy reveal at the beginning, where the camera points to his shadow and he puts on his hat and takes his iconic pose with the Indy March lightly creeping into the music.

I also love, for some reason, the image of Indy looking towards the mushroom cloud of the nuclear test bomb.

I loved Cate Blanchett in the role. There's a closeup shot of her face holding a sword to Indy's throat that I can't get enough of. Her's blue eyes contrasting with her dark hair gets to me every time (same reason I love Rena Sofer so much. I don't why, but I have a thing for women with light blue eyes but dark hair. Even if it's not their natural color).

This fourth Indy accomplishes very well what it set out to do: Give a popcorn flick - Indy style!

My Thoughts:
I got this set only 4 days ago... and I already finished the entire thing! What can I say... this is my favorite medical drama! I really adore all the characters... and immensely enjoy all the storylines. It also helps that I haven't seen these episodes since they originally aired back in the  2011-2012 TV season. Some of this season's highlights for me were people falling into a sinkhole... Karev bringing the children for surgeries from Africa.... Shepherd and Grey adopting one of those children... Stampede at a Comic-Con.... A Penis Transplant... A Lion Attack... and an incredible season finale that makes you wish you could continue with the next season right away! If you never got the chance to check out this series... and you enjoy a good medical drama... this one is definitely a must see!

My Rating:
Out of a Possible 5
