Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Bonus Trailers Deleted Scenes Featurettes Gallery Interactive Games DVD-ROM Content Closed Captioned Theatrical & Director's Cut, Fact Track My Thoughts: I have never been much of an Ashton Kutcher fan. He is usually pretty hit and miss for me... usually more misses then hits. But I thought the plot of this movie sounded interesting... so was looking forward to giving this one a try. When I saw that the DVD had both the Theatrical Cut as well as the Director's Cut... I decided to go for the director's cut. If someone out there that seen both versions... please let me know if the Theatrical cut is any better and I will watch it the next time. But over all I am glad I watched this one today. I found the movie to be worth watching.... but not what I would call outstanding. I liked the basic storyline... and I like how it ended. I even enjoyed Ashton Kutcher in this one. Well about as much as I could... I wouldn't say he was great in the role... but definitely better then some of the stuff I have seen him in. I really liked how they handled the time travel in this one. It wasn't hard to understand at all... possibly even a little too simplified. This movie is definitely worth checking out. And I am even looking forward to checking out part 2. Who knows I may even enjoy it more without Ashton Kutcher in it this time. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 TV Series Cast:
(From Weekend Movie Marathon: TV Stars in Movies on February 25th, 2011) Predators, a review by AchimSynopsis:My comments: Predators was always a film I would see, but once Robert Rodriguez's name was attached to it it became a MUST-SEE. While it didn't quite live up to those expectations (which were huge ones, at that), I liked it. So where does that film stand? It seems all they considered was the original Predator film, the story of which is actually mentioned. So is Predators to Predator what Aliens was to Alien? in short no. To me that would have meant the appearance of large amounts of predators (as hinted at by the trailer, actually), which does not happen. It is a lot closer to the original, with its jungle setting and trying to create suspense for the most part. While the one scene of the trailer was deliberately confusing and does obviously not appear, I think the rest of the trailer did a good job of setting up the film without giving away too much. I found myself repeatedly surprised by what happened (I am easily surprised like that, though ). Adrien Brody seems as an odd casting choice in the role of the tough guy, but he grunts himself through creating enough believability. Danny Trejo does his thing. Laurence Fishburne seems to chew the scenery a bit (boy did he get fat; then again, well, so did I , guess it's an age thing). Topher Grace (he is playing the physician) surprised me in his role. The other cast members are much less known (one or two faces seemed familiar, but I didn't know anyone by name). There is some gore here (quite some, actually), done by the excellent team of KNB. CGI seemed to be either be held at a minimum or was done exceptionally well. There was no Alien reference placed i the film (at least I didn't see it), like it was at the end of Predator 2, only the music took a cue from Alien soundtracks two or three times, which felt extremely out of place to me. Luckilyu it was early on so it wouldn't distract from the action on screen too much. (From Predators (2010) on July 10th, 2010) Babylon 5: Marathon, a review by DJ DoenaSeason 3: Point of No Return Disc 1 Matters of Honor Synopsis: A Ranger training post is sealed of with mines and one ranger who could escape asks Babylon 5 for help. Meanwhile Londo tries to cut his connections to Mr. Morden and his associates. Also a representative of Earth comes to Babylon 5 to investigate about the Shadow vessel that destroyed Lt. Keffer's Starfury. My opinion: I always liked Marcus and I sure love the White Star. But Sheridan has to be a bit mad to try a stunt like the one in this episode. Good introduction to the next step of the story. Convictions Synopsis: A series of bombings shake Babylon 5. Bombs planted by a person who has no political agenda but to spread fear. And when Lennier tries to save Londo he gets badly hurt. My opinion: While I never really understood the motives of the bomber I really liked the tube scene between Londo and G'Kar. I also liked the arrival of the monks around brother Theo who will stay for a while on the station. A Day in the Strife Synopsis: A probe approaches Babylon 5 and transmits a message: When Babylon 5 can answer a series of highly complicated questions, they will receive important knowledge in return. If not, the probe will explode and take B5 with it. My opinion: Another average episode, there's not really much to say about it. Passing through Gethsemane Synopsis: Again we see the monks. But one of them is troubled because he gets flashes of memories but he can't remember the events. Meanwhile Lyta Alexander return to the station on a Vorlon(!) transprt ship. She has been to the Vorlon homeworld but is forbidden to tell about it. She now works for the Vorlons and must hide from the Psi Corps. My opninion: Great episode about crime and punishment. To see the life of a mind-wiped person and how the victims of a crime can't let go. I really liked the acting of Brad Dourif (Dune, Deadwood) and the actions of brother Theo at the end of the episode. (From Babylon 5: Marathon on August 11th, 2007) |
