Plot:

My Thoughts:
This is a movie that is in the oddly named boxset Gorehouse Greats Collection. I say oddly named because I have watched a few movies in this set now... and I am yet to see what I would call gore. Maybe it is me... I mean I realize these movies are from the '60s and '70s... so maybe this tiny bit of blood I have seen from this set so far was considered gore at that time. But when a set that came out in 2009 is called Gorehouse Greats Collection... do you not expect to see some actual gore? I think the collection of movies in this set is fine... some good some not so good... even some terrible movies in this set. I can accept that. But with such a title to the boxset... these are not the movies I would expect to see when I buy it. And I think most people would expect the same.  Matter of fact I can see people enjoy this set for some classic horror... that would refuse to buy the set because they expect them to be gory.

OK... off my soapbox about the set itself... and on to this movie. I will say this one definitely has more blood in it then the ones I watched from this set previously. But it is still not to the point that I would call it a gory movie. I don't know... maybe for the time it is about as gory as they got. But as for the over-all movie... I enjoyed it quite a bit. The story kept my attention well. While more of a supernatural movie... watching this one you can see the step towards the slasher films that are so well known from the '80s. This movie alone makes this purchase worthwhile. The quality of the release is also much better then the previous movies I watched in this set. This is a movie I wouldn't mind upgrading to a single movie release... with a few extras. Though I did find the acting in some scenes a bit off... it really wasn't enough to distract me from the movie. Anyway... I am glad I watched this movie today. It actually put me in the mood for some more horror. Especially all the fun horror movies that I remember watching as a teen from the '80s!

Easy Living, a review by Antares

Easy Living (1937) 72/100 - This is one of those films that's been getting a lot of discussion lately as a lost gem of the screwball comedy era. But to be honest, you would think that a screenplay written by Preston Sturges, the Shakespeare of screwball, would be a gut busting ride, but for a few glitches, never finds it's course to classic comedy. It's as if someone at Paramount was given a set of blueprints for how to make a screwball comedy and everyone except Jean Arthur and Luis Alberni was manufacturing their roles to specification. Edward Arnold and Ray Milland spend the first 45 minutes of the film yelling their lines as if high volume made the lines funnier...well... it doesn't. It just makes the proceedings seem a bit amateurish. The film only really gets its footing once Jean Arthur takes up residence at Mr. Louis Louis' swanky hotel. The scenes with her and Alberni are priceless and for my money, Alberni steals almost every scene he's in. That isn't to say that Jean Arthur doesn't carry her weight, quite the contrary, she just radiates in this role. I've never seen her look more beautiful in a film and her performance proves that she was the queen of screwball comedy. It's too bad the first 45 minutes aren't as funny as the last 45 minutes, because this could have been a contender for top screwball comedy of all time. But alas, it's really only worth watching for the reasons I stated.

15. Freak
A boy named Tobias was blinded by the meteor shower but given the ability to identify other meteor freaks. Lex is using Tobias to locate other people with abilities so that he can perform experiments on them. Lana learns of Tobias and is fearful that he will name Clark as a freak, so she offers him a cornea transplant to keep him quiet. But Tobias has some surprising news.

My Thoughts:
This one was a really good episode...We definitely learn something new in this episode...   Was an interesting episode... I also like how Clark did the impromptu laser surgery on Chloe. 

16. Promise
Clark has second thoughts about Lana marrying Lex, and Lana has the same concerns. Meanwhile, the doctor involved in the secret behind Lana's pregnancy threatens Lex with his knowledge.

My Thoughts:
This was a good episode... a lot happens... not the least being As good as it was.. not sure I cared much for the jumping back and forth in time to show the day by different people's perspectives.

17. Combat
Clark and Chloe find an escaped Zoner named Titan who is the star of a secret fight club that puts its death battles on the internet.

My Thoughts:
This episode was just plainly a lot of fun... got to love the illegal fighting arena idea... though I did hate the style of the ring announcer/promoter. This episode has 2 more pro wrestling stars... One being Kane (Think this is the first time I ever seen him without a mask as when I used to watch... he wore one.) and the other being some woman named Ashley. (This one I would have never known was a pro wrestler if it wasn't for her being on Survivor this season.) Nice looking woman... but in my opinion... those 2 piercings in her lower lip has got to go!  But I really enjoyed the action and fighting in this one. I also really enjoyed the flirting/fight between that Ashley and Lois!

18. Progeny
Lex discovers that Chloe's mother has special abilities and forces her to help him in exchange for Chloe's life. However, she has a trick or two of her own to use to escape.

My Thoughts:
And yet another episode I really enjoyed! This one guest stars the still lovely Lynda Carter who was of course Wonder Woman back in the 70's. She plays Chloe's mother... so naturally we learn a lot about her and why she left. Also in this episode we find out something huge between Lana and Lex!... 
This disc also only has Deleted scenes... this time for 3 episodes... Freak, Combat and Progeny.
