Speed, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Keanu Reeves as Jack Traven Dennis Hopper as Howard Payne Sandra Bullock as Annie Joe Morton as Capt. McMahon Jeff Daniels as Harry Alan Ruck as Stephens Plot:Extras:
My Thoughts: This is the first time I watched this movie in about 3 years. And I must say I really enjoyed watching it again. It is filled with lots of great action. My favorite character has to be Annie (Sandra Bullock) of course!... but after her I liked Keanu Reeves. I think both of them did an excellent job. This is definitely one I would recommend. My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Celebrity of the Week Marathon: Sandra Bullock on July 25th, 2012) The Awakening, a review by Danae CassandraThe Awakening Year of Release: 2011 Directed By: Nick Murphy Starring: Rebecca Hall, Dominic West, Imelda Staunton, Isaac Hempstead-Wright Genre: Suspense/Thriller, Horror Overview: They say, the boy was scared to death. When the death of a child at a boarding school is blamed on a ghost, hoax exposer Florence Cathcart is certain that science and reason can explain it. But the truth she discovers is more terrifying than she could ever imagine, and soon the ghost hunter becomes the hunted. Starring Rebecca Hall (The Town), Dominic West (John Carter) and Imelda Staunton (Harry Potter films), The Awakening is a terrifying mystery filled with haunting twists that will keep you on the edge of your seat. My Thoughts: This was a beautiful, melancholy ghost story. It's an elegant little film, with a wonderful, thick atmosphere filled with grief and guilt. The cast is quite strong in their roles, especially Hall, West and Staunton. It isn't a particularly scary film, but it is haunting. However the film moves at a slow pace, taking its time to develop the story, and while I don't mind that, and think it works well for this story, some viewers might. Also, the ending is somewhat ambiguous, which again, I think works for the story, but some might object. Recommended if you like old-fashioned ghost stories and don't mind the slow pace. Bechdel Test: Pass Overall: 4/5 (From Month Long Horror/Halloween Marathon on November 9th, 2014) Grey's Anatomy: Complete Eighth Season, a review by addicted2dvd
Stars: Ellen Pompeo as Dr. Meredith Grey Sandra Oh as Dr. Cristina Yang Justin Chambers as Dr. Alex Karev Chandra Wilson as Dr. Miranda Bailey James Pickens, Jr. as Dr. Richard Webber Sara Ramirez as Dr. Callie Torres Eric Dane as Dr. Mark Sloan Chyler Leigh as Dr. Lexie Grey Kevin McKidd as Dr. Owen Hunt Jessica Capshaw as Dr. Arizona Robbins Kim Raver as Dr. Teddy Altman Sarah Drew as Dr. April Kepner Jesse Williams as Dr. Jackson Avery Patrick Dempsey as Dr. Derek Shepherd My Thoughts: I got this set only 4 days ago... and I already finished the entire thing! What can I say... this is my favorite medical drama! I really adore all the characters... and immensely enjoy all the storylines. It also helps that I haven't seen these episodes since they originally aired back in the 2011-2012 TV season. Some of this season's highlights for me were people falling into a sinkhole... Karev bringing the children for surgeries from Africa.... Shepherd and Grey adopting one of those children... Stampede at a Comic-Con.... A Penis Transplant... A Lion Attack... and an incredible season finale that makes you wish you could continue with the next season right away! If you never got the chance to check out this series... and you enjoy a good medical drama... this one is definitely a must see!My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Addicted2dvd's Random TV Series Watched on June 9th, 2013) |
