Lifeboat, a review by DragonfireLifeboat This was the first time I had seen this one, though I had heard of it before. The plot works well even though it isn't as complex as some of Hitchcock's other movies. It is just dealing with the survivors in the lifeboat, but since one of them is German, that does add some issues that get dealt with. There is a bit of mystery tied to if Willy is really trying to help or if he has something else in mind like at least one of the others believes. There are a few confrontations that help to keep things interesting. One rather drastic thing is done at one point, though nothing much is shown, it is still clear what is going on. A few somewhat disturbing things happen, though they all make sense given what is going on in the movie. There isn't as much shared about most of the characters. Constance seems the most developed even though still many things remain a mystery about her. Overall, I really enjoyed the movie. I even managed to review of it posted on Epinions. My Thoughts: I have to admit I was a bit apprehensive about watching this one. I only seen 2 other Uwe Boll movies before this one (BloodRayne & House of the Dead)... and they didn't go all that well for me. I rated both of them at only 2 stars. I found this one cheap... so thought I would give him another chance to impress me. . and it only took me nine months to pop it into my player! I never really been a huge fan of Christian Slater... but at the same time he never bothered me either. He was pretty good in this one. And I even enjoyed the movie more then the first two I tried. I have read many times if Uwe Boll's name is on a movie to basically forget about it... not worth the time. And with the first two movies I watched I started to believe that. But with this movie I feel I can at least give others a chance. No... I don't think this one is a great movie. But I would say it is a good one. Worth the time I put into it. There is a fair amount of gore in this movie too. Not what I would call realistic looking.... but at the same time not cheaply done either. I would say this one is worth checking out if you can find it cheap. Which shouldn't be a problem.... after all I got mine for $3 at Big Lots.My Rating: Out of a Possible 5 (From Weekend Movie Marathon: Unseen Horrors on July 22nd, 2011) [Rerun Marathon] Spaced, a review by Tom10/10 Most fun episode so far.
