Robin Hood (1973 Animated), a review by Dragonfire

Robin Hood

A long time ago, in a faraway land, legend tells an extraordinary tale of courage and friendship...

Get ready for swashbuckling adventure, unforgettable characters, memorable music and lots of laughs in Disney's Robin Hood, one of the most cherished animated films of all time.

Heroic Robin Hood--along with his trusted companion Little John and his devoted band of merry men--conjures up one famously funny and daring deed after another to outfox greedy Prince John and bring happiness to the residents of Sherwood Forest.

The Most Wanted Edition DVD also features a forest full of merriment with a never-before-seen alternate ending, all-new games and Disney Song Selection, plus a new digital transfer, 5.1 Surround Sound and much more!

My Thoughts

I decided to watch this one again for the first time in years.  I remember some parts from when I saw it years ago, but I had forgotten some things.

The movie does have a different take on the legend of Robin Hood since the characters are animals.  It is a simpler version of the story that still works to be entertaining.  This movie is a good one to introduce kids to the character.  Some different things happen and there are also some things that have been in other movies with the character as well.  There is a bit of action in a few scenes from some archery and a few fights that do add a bit of action.  The animation is done well for when the movie was made, though of course, it isn't anywhere near what can be done with animation now.  The animation does have a slightly dated look, though I do think it has held up well overall.

I still enjoy this movie and think it is worth watching.

I did post a review on Epinions a few days ago.

Drop-Out Wife, a review by Jimmy

Title : Drop-Out Wife (1972)

Overview
Sexually stunted Peggy walks out on her abusive marriage and into a seedy swinger's life where anything goes! Her sexual appetite seems limitless, until she's asked to perform the unspeakable by a couple of rough club goers.

My Impression
The comment that I can make about this one is that for a R-rated movie there is a lot of thing that will not pass today. There are a lot of nudity (pretty usual in my movie), but you got a lot (and I really means a lot) of frontal nudity both woman and man (a big no no). So how is the movie? Not to bad... The acting is so-so with only Angela Carnon as an exception, but if you really want to see her in a better movie I really recommand Booby Trap. By the way miss Carnon is a Canadian actress. Another thing regarding the cast there are a lot of alias users and uncredited in the cast, knowing the uncredited girls (Rene Bond, Candy Samples) is normal but when you do the same for the guys (Ric Lutz, Johnny Yukon) maybe you've seen to many movies. The story is pretty standard for a sexploitation movie, but one weird thing and I don't really like that his a scene where Peggy lost her unborn child after she was beaten by her husband. Not the kind of depressing thing I want to see in this genre of film.

Tom's Buffy and Angel Marathon, a review by Tom

6.21 Two to Go

Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Emma Caulfield (Anya), Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn Summers), James Marsters (Spike), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Danny Strong (Jonathan Levinson), Tom Lenk (Andrew Wells), Jeff Kober (Rack), Anthony Stewart Head (Rupert Giles), Steven W. Bailey (Cave Demon), James C. Leary (Clem), Jeff McCredie (Officer), Damian Mooney (Patrol Cop), Michael Younger (Truck Driver)

The showdown of this season. Not as good as I remember it, but worth nonetheless.

6.22 Grave
Writer: Joss Whedon (Created By), David Fury (Writer), Joss Whedon (Writer)
Director: James A. Contner
Cast: Sarah Michelle Gellar (Buffy Summers), Nicholas Brendon (Xander Harris), Emma Caulfield (Anya), Michelle Trachtenberg (Dawn Summers), James Marsters (Spike), Alyson Hannigan (Willow Rosenberg), Anthony Stewart Head (Rupert Giles), Danny Strong (Jonathan Levinson), Tom Lenk (Andrew Wells), Steven W. Bailey (Cave Demon), Brett Wagner (Trucker)

The conclusion is better than the previous episode. I liked that it is Xander, the one without any superpowers, who saves the day.
I am not sure of it was on purpose by Joss Whedon, but I had the feeling that he was giving his opinion on this season through Giles. The first season which wasn't headed by him. When Buffy confesses all the bad things which she did this season concluding with her sleeping with Spike, Giles gets a laughing fit because of the absurdity of it and then tells her, that he (Giles/Joss) should have been here.
