Bandidas, a review by KinkyCyborgBandidas Title:Bandidas Year: 2006 Director: Joachim Roenning, Espen Sandberg Rating: PG-13 Length: 92 Min. Video: Anamorphic Widescreen 2.35:1, Pan & Scan 1.33:1 Audio: English: Dolby Digital: 5.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital: Dolby Surround, Commentary: Dolby Digital: 2-Channel Stereo Subtitles: English, Spanish Stars:Plot:Extras: Scene Access Audio Commentary Feature Trailers Featurettes Closed Captioned My Thoughts: Two Mexican girls, one a spoiled rich girl, the other a tom boy farm girl, decide to rob banks to avenge the violence against their fathers and the plundering of their peoples lands by the money men. This storyline has been done to death but this time with some interesting twists, them being the female heroines and their nationality, Mexican rather than American. Made for an relatively entertaining western comedy. For the most part I much prefer Salma Hayek over Penelope Cruz, both as an actress and as a looker but in this movie I preferred Cruz over Hayek in both regards. Cruz was super sexy and had a much more interesting and engaging character. These BFFs always wanted to do a movie together and while it's no High Noon I enjoyed it. Steve Zahn provides the comic relief as a nerdy crime investigator and Dwight Yoakam, who never gets as much credit as he should for his acting, plays the nefarious front man for the greedy banks. This movie will appeal to fans of westerns, comedies & gorgeous women. KC Rating: (From KinkyCyborg's Random Reviews 2011 on May 2nd, 2011) Live and Let Die, a review by DragonfireThis one is ok, but it isn't great. I seem to remember liking it more than I did when I watched it this time. I did like Roger Moore as Bond - even though he was extremely manipulative with Solitaire - and I liked Jayne Seymour. The plot was all right, but nothing great. I could have done without the snakes. There was some decent action, though several scenes did seem to drag on too long. That sheriff that turned up late in the movie was a buffoon and added absolutely nothing to what was going on. The music was good and I was glad that the movie didn't use the one piece of music during the action scenes that has been used in so many of the previous movies - I got tired of hearing it all the time. Overall, I thought the movie was entertaining, but it was just average. I still have to watch the extras on my DVD and then I'll work on a longer review to post at Epinions. (From James Bond Marathon on March 23rd, 2009) Smallville Marathon, a review by addicted2dvdSeason 4: Disc 2: 5. Run After Jonathan's wallet is stolen, Clark super-speeds after the thief but is stunned when he cannot catch him. The thief, Bart, a.k.a. The Flash, later shows up at the farm and tries to talk Clark into leaving Smallville for a life on the road together, flexing their super powers. My Thoughts: Definitely one of my favorites... the first other DC Comics superhero shows up in Smallville... The Flash! Was a fun episode... seeing him start out as a thief was a little weird to me... but that is cool... I think the storyline worked out great. 6. Transference Clark hears a painful ringing sound in his ears and is drawn to the prison where Lionel is being held. When he sees Lionel attempt to stab Lex with a strange glowing stone, Clark grabs for the stone causing the two men to switch bodies. My Thoughts: I actually enjoyed this one more then I expected to. I thought they did a good job on the story. but I wouldn't say it is a favorite of mine... just a good basic episode that brings the main arc further along. 7. Jinx Chloe is drawn into an underground gambling ring at school run by foreign exchange student Mikail Mxyzptlk and loses her savings on a football game after Mxyzptlk uses his powers to control all the players - including Clark. My Thoughts: This one didn't impress me all that much... I mean it was ok... but I was left feeling disappointed... mainly because they changed the character Mxyzptlk too much. He was supposed to be a prankster being from another dimension... not some exchange student with a hidden ability. 8. Spell After Lana reads from a spell book written in the 1600s, she, Lois and Chloe become possessed by witches that had been burned at the stake. The three witches have come back seek revenge and search for the powerful Kryptonian crystals, wreaking havoc on the town in the process. My Thoughts: This is an episode that I know most people didn't like... but I enjoyed every minute of it.I thought the story-line was a fun one... and the fact that all 3 of the girls looked absolutely HOT while being possessed by the witches didn't hurt matters either!
