My Thoughts: This is the only Harry Potter movie that I have seen before. I have even seen it at the cinema. But I haven't seen yet any of the others and I also haven't read the books. I never had the urge to. When the complete movie series was on a Black Friday deal, I just thought it is time that I check these movies out.I enjoyed the beginning of this movie, but once Harry got to Hogwarts, it just became kind of boring and without suspense. It has the feel to just going along to have story points from a book covered without any real feeling to it. This is why I never bothered with the rest. I hope it gets better. Sure to shock, horrify and even repulse, these brutal films are not meant for the faint of heart. The classic series is the one true original Faces Of Death. Accept no substitute! My Impression The first one of this genre that I've seen in my life and my mother beat me (not too hard) for one of the first and only time in my life because I've let my younger sister watched it with me. I can understand why my mother was really angry since my sister was only 6 years old and had made nightmares for week after that experience. The first time I've seen it I was impress and shock, but since them I've realized that much of it is fake. Except for some autopsy footage and the animal scene everything is fake or modify. So the more know moments (the electric chair, the monkey restaurant, the aligator attack and the bear attack) are fabricated and really obvious if we take the time too think : multiple angle, camera place at impossible place if hidden (by exemple a camera under the table in the monkey scene. Don't forget the camera were big 30 years ago), peoples who didn't speak naturally, many continuity errors... Sure there are a lot of real footage that can be not for anyone : a pitbull fight, a normal day at a slaughterhouse, autopsy procedures, seals clubbing, ... MY BROTHER'S KEEPER Quinn's body is not his own when the Sliders arrive in a world where his is expected to act as an organ donor for his injured double. My Thoughts: This is a very good episode. In this episode Malcolm Jamal Warner (The Cosby Show) gust stars as a clone... where in this world they create clones to harvest for people when transplants are needed. My Rating: 20. THE CHASM The serene town of Middletown hides a deadly secret of human sacrifice that threatens to claim Rembrandt and Maggie. My Thoughts: Another episode I enjoyed quite a bit. Though I must admit that the ending... what the chasm leads to was a little bit of a let down. But over all... was worth the watch. My Rating: 21. ROADS TAKEN An unusual slide forces Quinn and Maggie to prematurely age, and it's up to Rembrandt to find a cure before they are destroyed by life in a "bubble universe." My Thoughts: This is a good episode... but not one of my favorites. they try something a little new in this episode... by having their slide (well Quinn and Maggie's stress while in the slide) creating a world. My Rating: 22. REVELATIONS An aging sci-fi writer helps Quinn and Colin reunite with their birth parents, but the warm family reunion is not what it seems. My Thoughts: I really enjoyed this season finale. Quinn and Colin think they are finally home. I did have one problem with this episode. Every time before when they opened the vortex it was stationary. But this time they open it while being on the top of a moving train... and instead of the vortex staying still and them moving away from it... the vortex followed behind the train to let them jump in. I know... it is a sci-fi show and anything is possible... but it just wasn't being true to all the episodes before it. My Rating: (From Sliders Marathon on December 18th, 2009) |
