Help Identifying A Documentary

I saw a programme on TV many years ago it was a documentary about a Artist? that drew money and would then go out and try to spend it to the value of what he had drawn he wasn't trying to con anyone as it was quite obvious it was drawn and not real but quite a lot of people gave him goods to the value of the fake money. Think he was American as i remember the money being Dollars. Anyone else or is it all in my mind
