8000 Hours of DVD Material
« on: June 02, 2013, 03:30:26 PM »
I'm getting sloppy. It's been two months since I broke through the 8000 hours barrier.

For a statistics freak like me this is a major failure.

By the way: I haven't even watched Date Night yet. ;)

The general picture has not really changed, I still buy thrice the running time in TV shows than I do in movies (6000 hours: ~4500 hours vs. ~1500 hours / now: 6092 hours vs. 1933 hours).

But I notice that when I buy TV shows I'm still buying way more on DVD than I do on Blu-ray. For me, Blu-ray is reserved for the big action pictures, not for the random RomCom from the bargain bin.

It took only 23 months to accumulate another 2000 hours of material. That's 2.74 hours a day just to watch DVDs. Luckily I don't watch regular TV. ;)

I "only" have little over half of that. But that is scary enough already.

8000 hours is nearly one year of continuous watching without repetition... :stars:

My collection is small, ok this isn't what my familly and friends say but compare to most of you it is

Only 364,280 minutes or 6,071h20 or 252 days 23 hours 20 minutes...

not even enough to pass a complete year in front of my TV without a rebroadcast :(

I have no idea how many hours I have...not sure I want to know....  :hysterical:

Not even sure I know how to look that up.  Hmmm....

Ok...think I found it..and I think I'm right...I didn't want to know this.  :lol

744,761 minutes or 1 year and 152 minutes.  Yikes.

As Dumbledore would say: "Another year ... gone". Or on my case 19 months.

19 months between having more than 8,000 hours of movies and TV shows and now 10,000 hours!

Despite my feeling that I have slowed down in recent months and also despite the fact that I have given away quite a number of movies recently, my purchases have not actually slowed down, but increased (compared to 23 months for 6,000 to 8,000 hours) instead.
