After Earth (2013)

Saw this trailer when watching the trailer for City of Bones in another thread. It's all just pretty images and no story elements, but according IMDb there are other actors involved...

I saw this at the theaters a month or so back and thought it looked very interesting on the big screen.  I haven't looked for information on it.  My only *critic* would be dragging his son along for the ride.  He isn't a very good actor, at least to me.  Next thing you know they will have someone swishing their hair through the air and singing Whip My Hair ... oh ... right ... already done .  I guess with enough money and dad pulling the strings anyone can be a *star*.   

But back to "After Earth", this does look like it will be primarily a visual feast.

Yes, I also was a bit annoyed seeing that he dragged his son into this again. In the long run that may not even turn out to be a favor to Jaden...

Wow .. the preview I saw in the theater months ago looked better .. more visual.  Of course that is a pretty small image.

Looks like "Fresh Prince" does "Legend"

I agree. I guess the first trailer was all flashy and this intends to show more story, but revealing tht in that department it's actually not special at all Jaden's acting seemed rather wooden in the trailer and Will didn't seem far ahead himself...

What I like about the concept: apparently at some points earth's animals got fed up with humanity making a mess all over and started driving us off the planet

I might still see it somehow for the flashy images with the animals.
