Hmmmmm......Interesting. 
He needs to control the lense flare though..that gets distracting.

True about those lens flares, but it's been in Star Trek, Super 8, maybe others.

I trust he can make it a well directed piece, but a lot will depend on the script...

Not convinced.

Although with JJ's attention span it could change by then. I'm surprised he managed to maintain it for Trek 2.

While shooting Star Trek he seemed to have forgotten for a moment that this was not a Star Wars prequel movie:
