Game: Semi-important movie plot points
« on: June 02, 2012, 09:33:43 PM »
This is just for fun:

The first user mentions a plot point that is only of limited importance to the overall plot of a movie and yet without it, it wouldn't have worked.
The next user knows the movie and continues to give the next clue for another movie.
Of course you can google, but I think it's more fun if you scratch your brain for the information. ;)

OK, let's try this:

Why was it important that UCLA beat Washington 19-17?

To avoid a paradox in BTTF?

(If right, someone else can take my go).

Not exactly a paradox, but so old Biff could prove to young Biff that the Sports Almanach actually works.

And it was BTTF 2 ;)

OK, next question: Why did he say that repairs would take days instead of hours?

From Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan and it was a coded message to fool Khan - do not transmit data in the clear.

Someone else can pick up the next question.

Dang.... this sounds tough (coming up with the idea,s I mean)

What made it so important that he try to talk to/patch things up with his wife, sit with a boy's mother, and slam a door?

Horror, Suspense/Thriller

The director/writer also plays a minor role in the film.

Bruce Willis stars in it (I'll give the answer next time)  I hope I did this right in others' minds; I'm waiting to give the answer and hearing, "Huh? What was pointless" or something

Given your hint that Bruce Willis is in it this is obviously The Sixth Sense. The answer to the question should therefore be:
He was trying to do all the things unsuccessfully which should clue us in on another plot point later on.

I looked through my collection and while I am sure I understand the concept of the game I could not come up with a single idea for the next question :bag:

Why was it important that he had hit a superior officer a few years earlier?

Hint: That lead to the bad guys not having vital information.
