My day started bad

I broke my glasses when I pick them this morning :voodoo:

At left one of the glass is correct (the right one), but I can't really see :(

Fortunately my father can help me to replace them and I got an appointment for later today, but...

I will have to wait as new glasses doesn't appear magically. That suck... I can't read, I won't be able to be on the net very long (even typing this is rough for my eyes) and watching TV will be tiresome to do.

So don't worry if I don't post as I usually do for some day :(

Excuse my language, but that fucking suck to be unable to do what you usually do :voodoo:

The greatest gift I was ever given was lasik eye surgery. Legal blind without glasses, to be able to see clearly the moment the surgery was done was a miracle.

Although you won't be able to see this, I am sorry for your troubles Jimmy.

I could never have lasik surgery. Almost 30 years with glasses and growing up clumsy, my glasses are my eye projection... like safety goggles

I feel your pain, though. I have a much older spare pair for just such an occurrence, but I did have one pair break on me when I was out of town. Failed attempts at repairing and then a week without them started giving me headaches.
I have a collection.
It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

Never go to bed mad. Sleep on the couch instead.

There are a few broken branches in every family tree.

400$ spent today because of that :voodoo:

And to make me feel better I must have bifocals on my glasses because I'm not young anymore :weep:

BTW I attach a picture to give you an idea of how I must set Firefox to see ok (at least for a short period cause my only eye get tired fast).

I forgot : I must pass another test next week as they have detected a possible problem with my retina :(

Happened to me once or twice. I have pretty bad eyes myself and cannot see without them as well (popular misconception for visually abled people is that we are blind, but stuff just gets incredibly blurry ). But, I usually have a pair of spares in the drawer for such emergencies. They are literally last years model (or older), but at least they will get me through the time until the new ones are done.

I also usually spend around $400 for new ones. But at least here in Taiwan they have very dense glass, so they are reasonably thin. If I bought regular ones I would have the proverbial coke bottle bottoms...

I'm supposed to have one too for thar, but as much I've seatch since yesterday I xan't find them :(

My most recent spare pair broke at the arm... and by that I mean it shattered.

I, more or less, rubber cemented the handle back on just so I didn't have to go back to the pair older than that one. But now the arm doesn't move. The pair sits stiff-legged in a secluded area in the hopes I don't drop something on it and break another part which the arm stays firmly in place!

I was never bored so much in my life... I see a big grey patch while I watch my movies and this is pretty much all I can do except sleeping to pass the time.

Yesterday I went to the post office to pick my Amazon package and you have no idea how I felt insecure crossing the road... never realized that even walking blind spot were that important in the traffic

Hope I'll get my glasses next week, only five days and I'm going crazy stuck at home

I know how you feel I been completely blind in one eye since I was 16.

I hope you get your new glasses soon Jimmy...that would suck.

My mom can't see that well without hers.  She still has an older pair around the house somewhere though so if something happened, she would at least have those.

Make sure she knows where they are. I was sure I had an extra pair and , now that I need them, I can't remember where they are

Achim

You'll prably find the spares after you have your new gasses... :slaphead:

Dragonfire

My mom knows where her last pair is.  I think I know where it is too.

Jimmy

And now I have them :yahoo:

Funny how it's weird to get used at how to place my eyes because of the multifocal lens
