Apparently Ashton Kutcher is to replace Charlie Sheen, i actually think this is a good announcement, i like Kutcher and think he will be good in this show

You're kidding me, right?  If Kutcher is in, they may as well cancel it now.  I never cared for him.  Personally, I think the show has overstayed its welcome anyway and should just get outta here.

Antares

I'm taking 5 shows tops before they cancel.

Dragonfire

Not sure what I think about this yet.  Depending on the set up, it might work. I'll wait and see.

Mustrum_Ridcully

Ashton Kutcher is replacing Charlie Sheen??
If at all I would have casted him as replacement for Angus T. Jones.

This will never work, after all there's a difference between "can't act" (Ashton Kutcher) and "doesn't have to act" (Charlie Sheen).

DJ Doena

I will watch one episode of the ninth season. If he doesn't convince me I'm out. And I'm already biased against him.

Abraham Lincoln once said The trouble with quotes from the internet is that you never know if they're genuine.

To be fair, Kutcher is a terrible actor, but he's a canny celebrity. He was recently on The Graham Norton show here and he was very funny indeed just being him. He came across as a cheeky schoolboy who has found himself on the A-list and he's loving it. If that charm comes across into the show, it'll be fine and I bet general audiences will enjoy it.

And anyway, this is Two And A Half Men you're talking about. It's absolute shite anyway! Swapping one of the leads will make zero difference and it'll probably cost less.

Jimmy

They do that often in the TV soaps and that doesn't seem to be a big deal for the people who watch those shows.

He's getting $1 million per episode, can't be too much cheaper.

samuelrichardscott

A quick google shows Sheen was getting around $2m per episode so thats a hell of a saving.

Makes no difference to me though, I still won't be watching.

Najemikon

Yes, I remember one of Sheen's interviews (hilarious! "WINNING!" :hysterical:) where he seemed to confirm that he should receive $3million, an increase from 2... :stars:

Achim

I read somewhere that Hugh Grant was negotiating! Seems that didn't come through then.

I only watch this when I am on an airplane anyway, it won't affect me either way. I'd still watch it then, after all, the main key element in these shows is the writing... It's not like this is high brow drama (agree with Jon's points).

Dragonfire

I read something that said Kutcher would be a new character...not recasting of Charlie.

For the record, I've liked most things Ashton has been in, except That 70's Show.

I'm going to hazard a guess that Kutcher is going to be Charlie's son from his teenage years.

That is basically the one idea I've seen mentioned a few times.  A son Charlie never knew he had.  I have a few idea about what will happen to Charlie...  thinking maybe they'll just have him run off with Rose given everything that was going on before they stopped the show for the season.
