For those of you not frequenting the other site, Ken announced that there was a problem with the new iPhone/iPad/iPod Touch app that requires him to rush out DVD Pro 3.7 next week for a short beta followed by release of it and the DVD Pro app for the iPhone.

Since I don't care for any portable thing that doesn't really bother me... sorry for the majority who probably care.
More interested with what will be in the new version and I really hope that Ken will correct the "bug" that prevent to do an image contribution (a real scan and not a small one for the pre-release profiles) if we use a phone internet connection.

OK I don't contribute a lot, but I like to redo my scans when they are ugly (my first batch wasn't that good).

I too don't care for the iProfiler.. I do like new versions of DVD Profiler, hope there's some worthwhile upgrades and not just iFixes

The way I understood Ken it will mainly be the necessary fixes for the iVersions. The beta period is not supposed to last more than two weeks and requests will only be considered if they are bug fixes (or something like that).

Only thing that annoys me right is, that the change of the cover information makes the program think it's a new profile.

I don't have an i-Anything... so not concerned with that. With Ken's statement I am not expecting much of an update for the new profiler version... but guessing there will be a couple new features added at least... as he basically said it is cleaning up a 3.7 version he had in the works. So I am thinking (hoping) there will be some minor updates anyway.

My thinking is that if it was just a maintenance release for iCompatibility, then it'd be released as v3.6.X.. but because he's releasing it as 3.7, there has to be something new in it.

3.7 Beta is released now... not much at all... even less then I was hoping for on new features. but oh well.... that is ok.

I am almost surprisewd there are new features. I understood Ken that this is mainly a bug-fix release to facilitate the upcoming release of the iPod/iPad/iPhone program.

I'll head over and have a look.

If the iPod version wasn't nearing ready, from a programming standpoint it would have been more logical to call it 3.6.x, but with the bug fixes having a significance and this all worked toward the the new iPod version, by default you would go up another 10th point version number without the need for any feature changes.

I'm just happy (as usual) to see one of my suggestions was added :tease:

It can be found here.
No need to check it often.
I update it only twice a year!

If this is only a bug-fix release there is absolutly no reason to jump from 3.6 to 3.7...
Adding a couple of logo, new subtitles or new locality don't justify the number jump...
Normally it would have been called DVDP 3.6.5

Nothing to go crazy and certainly not worth my free time to testing it and not even sure I will update it.

Big deception when we know the last one was released 7 month ago...

Not that I would ever do it, but since the release today and iPod news a couple of days ago, I've been feeling the urge rub the nose of a particular member into these facts after his rants the other day meant for nothing but to be a snob and cause trouble.
